USA Today/ 24/7 Wall Street reported that January sales for firearms in the United States surged 60 percent year-over-year increase with more than 4.1 million guns being sold. Even more impressive is the fact that it marks the largest month since figures started to be recorded in 1998.
That follows the 40 percent increase in sales last year, when nearly 40 million guns were purchased – and a large percentage by first-time buyers. It is also worth noting that the data is from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI’s) National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICBCS), which was first introduced in 1998 and to date has been used more than 310 million times. In the more than 20 years that the system has been in place, there have been only 1.5 million denials.

Best marketing for firearms....gun grabbing Democrats.
Where's all the ammo gone yet again?
My Answer: No.
Not enough guns to go around for a bigger year than last year
Could Gun Sales In 2021 Shatter The Records?
Only if they can be manufactured fast enough.
Too much ammo being purchased (and horded) for there to be much availability. The Ammo companies are cranking out as much as their equipment can do so. To have more factories built isn’t cost effective in the long run as it is determined that the seemingly insatiable buying of ammo is a temporary thing as it was during the Obama administration. Once the rush to buy ended then, there was a glut in the market. Prices then dropped precipitously
Just like during 0bama; then when Trump was president the floodgates opened. Now with Biden, the supply is getting choked again.
A friend gave me 250 Rnds. of .45 auto yesterday, i’ll be needing to come up with something to show my appreciation.
Might have to think about 2021 being a year of gun employment if this downward spiral continues.
Always said a rifle without ammo is an expensive club.
Folks will start building guns and loading ammunition in their basements or garages. Astonishing how handy people can get when it is a dire necessity to have some kind of sidearm at close hand.
And these won’t even be reflected in gun sales.
And who knows? 3-D printers can be adapted to a LOT of different configurations.
Did you buy .22’s when they glutted the market? A couple of bricks should make him/her happy.
Ygen or egan.
“Once the rush to buy ended then, there was a glut in the market. Prices then dropped precipitously”
Hopefully this could happen in the USA. Not sure if this is temporary this time.
Actual gun sales? Yeah.... a LOT of them. But you should really see the absolute carping, whining, wheedling, gouging complaints and dealing going on with ammo that isn’t in stock right now. Trader/sale boards are completely lit up with activity right now. I’ve see things like some rounds that used to be common availability, common price go for $3-5 a round now.....(not 22LRs....they’re hovering at the below $1 per round rate now in on line ordering..
Agreed. If the current stolen administration craps on the constitution like they are attempting to do....all bets are off
We’ve done MORE than our part in this household. :)
I wonder if 2021 will have the fewest rounds actually fired but the most gun owners ever.
FReegards
The way things are going with gun sales there won’t be enough ammo out there to use with them; as an FFDO I get all the free .40 S&W I want for practice.
Most gun shops I go to are nearly out of stock on guns and absolutely out of stock on Ammo and reloading components.
