Everybody, boy or girl, throws things during the course of their lifetimes. There is a point in time where a person throws something the furthest they have ever thrown something before. Usually it's a baseball or maybe a frisbee or a rock.
When that particular throw is made, that person might know that they have never thrown something that far before but might not at that time realize that they will never throw something that far ever again.
For the rest of their lives, as they age and their bodies become weaker, they find themselves throwing things less and less further than before. But everybody has that one shining moment when they hurled an object further than they ever hurled an object before.
When was that time for you? Or did you even remember when that was?
For me, I believe that time occurred during the summer of 1985. I was on vacation in New Hampshire with sone friends and we started throwing around a frisbee in an open field near where we were staying. We had our dogs around us and they were all barking and prancing about with their tongues lolling out of their mouths in the frenzied way that dogs are known for.
One of the dogs, a border collie mix of a dog, waddled up to me with a frisbee and I pulled it out of the dog's teeth and in a moment of extreme energy, I ran a a few steps forward and flung that frisbee with all my might across the open field. It sailed and it sailed and finally landed in the trees on the perimeter of the field at least 300 feet and maybe more. In many ballparks, I would have thrown for a home run.
The mouths of my companions fell open and the dogs were sufficiently impressed that they didn't even bother chasing after it. Eventually, we all walked over towards the strand of trees but we never did find that frisbee. Likely it got lodged in the upper branches of one of them, never to be seen again. For all I know, it might still be up there in that tree.
It was a fairly windy day and I'm sure the wind assisted that frisbee in its epic flight. I know for a fact that I never threw anything that far ever since.
I threw the baby out with the bath water once.
The concentration was not on throwing skills but overall physical strength.
I guess somewhere around 15 years old when I was last any kind of serious baseball thrower.
And I concur to the back thing.
I threw a boomerang once. It never came back, so do not know how far it went. Could still be going for all I know.
I was looking for that.
Several politicians threw the election.
66 yards, football throw, track team, senior in high school, ca May 1957.
When I was young, I could throw a baseball all the way home in the air from any field in the outfield. That was easy then. I am 77 now. I think 250 feet might be hard.
I threw a softball from left field to first base in a women’s game...did not
quite (was close) make the out, but sent a message to the opposing team. That was about 45 years ago...lol.

I contributed as well (post #15). And in a way you’ve got to feel a bit sorry for the original poster, and for all original posters. You post something serious, and then the next thing you know it’s Comedy Central.
But it’s the American way to find something humorous in every situation. I really think it’s one thing that makes us strong.
I bet I could reach them mountains...
Do the birds have large talons?
All I know is it went thru a guys window
I did the same thing. Now I believe I know why I have shooting pain down my arm... Neck issues from twisting to see the ball.
Thanks.
I threw a handlaunched glider year before last and it stayed flying for two full minutes. Best flight ever!
Don’t have to be young to achieve your life’s best throw.
Sorry you missed out on that mansion... and your soul-mate..
LOL!!!
I coached baseball for young boys.
I had to teach myself to pitch so I could teach them how to pitch.
I no longer coach, so let me give you the secret.
The hips.
This Post incites very pleasant memories.
I used to be one of the biggest kids around for several years. I could spiral a football better than any, for those important years. I could throw a baseball sky high but I could not catch an Outfield fly worth a darn. I had unusual depth perception problems.
I appreciate the look into the rear view which this encouraged
Thanks!
Not exactly a throw, but I remember the best tee shot I ever hit and how long and straight it was, and that perfect sound it made when striking the ball.
This is what makes Free Republic a fun place. I like almost all the replies. That frisbee throw of mine back in 1985 was truly epic and it’s been a while since I told that story. That was the same summer I owned an AMC Pacer. I have a lot of stories about that. But the best story about the Pacer was when I got a company car, I could not sell it or even give it away. I took it to a junkyard and the guy just shook his head no. So I took the plates off and left it abandoned on a side street somewhere in Somerville, MA.
Threw it through a Redhawk.
LOL. Yes.
You can trust the Dems in office as far as you can throw Jerry Nadler while he’s holding Stacey Abrams in his arms. Sorry about your back if you try that stunt.
Weigh them first on the special scale. Has a sign “Toledo Co. is not responsible for injury to livestock if not properly secured before weighing.”
