Please help me understand how trump WON in a landslide yet according to this CNN article DJT never polled over 50%

Trump ends his term with the lowest average job approval rating -- 41% -- of any president in the last seven-plus decades, according to Gallup. That's four points worse than the next, uh, worst -- Harry Truman, who averaged a 45% job approval score throughout his time in office. Barack Obama averaged 47.9% job approval in his eight years, while George W. Bush averaged 49.4.

Did you miss the Rasmussen poll last week that said President Trump had a 51% approval rating AFTER the election? Did you see the multiple articles where 30% of Democrats thought Trump WON the 2020 election??!

I can tell you. The battleground counties were mainly rural/small town counties which have been trending right. Dur to political realignment they will never be battlegrounds again.
This was offset by Trump’s weak performance in populous suburban counties, such as Chester/Montgomery/Delaware PA, Cobb/Gwinnett GA and Oakland/Kent MI.
The pattern was similar in most states: urban and rural areas were similar to 2016, but Biden did better than Clinton in suburban areas.

and ‘landslide’ has ALWAYS been a relative term with most national voted being quite close to 50%
They use the same algorythem as Gallup that show Biden with an approval rating of 57%......for hiding in a basement.
