Four times I deployed into combat zones over my Army career. Twice more as a retired civilian have I ventured to Iraq and Afghanistan in an attempt to deepen my understanding of the sources of violence that undergirded those wars. Never in my wildest imagination did I believe I would live to see the day when the United States Capitol would be stormed by a wild mob, overpowering the police, disrupting both the House and Senate from performing a critical Constitutional duty.
This assault lays bare that it is time for some hard-core soul searching for both our political leaders as well as regular citizens. One of the most important topics to examine first should be to revisit what patriotism means.
(Excerpt) Read more at 19fortyfive.com ...
1998 was a shooting of two Capitol Police Officers in which the perpetrator pleaded insane in court (must be pretty corrupt to call someone insane who performs a deliberately planned act), also feminists marched into the Capitol in 2018 to say don’t confirm Brett Kavanaugh.
Not patriotism because they didn’t steal, loot, assault police, damage private or public property...?
You have a FAULTY PREMISE..what about the Antifa plants did you not research...
In the military its calleD AFTER ACTION REPORT
Gonna wish it had been a storming.
I tend to agree with this guy, that’s because I am pretty sure that the ones who stormed were actually relatively few, and that they were instigated by Antifa or other anarchist type groups. Other conservative rally’s never ended up in Chaos like this one, this was was generated by the other side, its a shame they fell for it.
Worst “storming” ever! Those people weren’t even armed with pitchforks.
Plus, it looks more and more like Antifa led the way.
If you are going to break the law, cool. Do it. But do it smartly with a specific achievable objective. Recognize the risks and potential consequences: THINK.
Instead of bum-rushing guards that are trained and paid to protect principals. You are going to end up DEAD and pitied. No one rushing up those stairs were thinking.
But stop this BS about comparing the Boston Tea Party (a peaceful non-threatening protest away from a secure facility), the events of 19 April 1775 (the first day of our Revolution when the red line was crossed), to the ill-conceived stupid acts of breaking into Capitol Hill that would not have solved anything.
If you need to give up your life for the Republic......do it smartly and make it count.
Sorry when people have had enough they will revolt.
We admired Bastille Day, we admired the Yellow Vests in France recently, but somehow doing this America is Unpatriotic, so Revolutionary War was wrong then.
And not stay within the velvet rope lines....
Yes, it is! The liberals do it!
They cheered the Puerto Ricans who shot up Congress in 1954.
How pathetic is it that conservatives are being herded into condemning justified civil disobedience (not Antifa thugs breaking out windows), the type the media and Democrats universally praise even when its done purely for political purposes.
STOP posting this CRAP!
It wasn’t a “mob”. They didn’t “storm” the Capitol.
THAT was ANTIFA and other anti-Trump and anti-American traitors who sucked them in (incited) otherwise peaceful protesters to follow them into the Capitol.
This was just another part of their (brilliant (though evil), if I might say so) plan to first take out Trump, then take over the country.
This isn’t a just coup, as much as it is a secret “revolution” in which we weren’t allowed to fight back.
“ORCHESTATED” like a symphony. All the various “instruments” playing their parts, at just the right moment, at just the right pitch, with the exact amount of volume, with the conductor bringing in just enough of the right instruments when he needs them.
Who the human conductor is... I can’t say. (satan is the ultimate conductor, God will take care of him) I sure would like to know who is his human conductor and who are all the members of his orchestra.
Exactly! This sounds like another short-sighted commentary from someone who hasn’t been on the other side of marginalization.
We’re the American Revolutionaries patriotic? They sure as hell used violence didn’t they?
A newbie. What a shock!
it was patriotic, only sad thing is they had no plan after taking control
The post info is just wrong.
Our fathers would have done much more than they die.
Fight for USA, or your shall surely perish.
