Sorry Dumb Question Time.
I have started bookmarking certain Free Republic articles.
But now I can't figure out how to find them.
They are not in my account? Where would they be? Can't seem to find a link.
Thanks
On your profile page, look in “In Forum”.
On your:
MAC
PC
iPhone
Android
Help us help you.
That’s odd. I never noticed the “bookmark” thing...
Bkmk
Go to your home page, then click on Links at the top of the page. That should provide a list of articles that you have bookmarked.
I just pinged myself.
Wow, that’s a great link, I’m gonna substitute my own handle and bookmark -that-!
Careful, you might go blind.
The top one is titled "browse by forum"
The second box is titled breaking news.
The third box is titled bookmarks.
I don't recall if I set it this way long ago or if everybody has similar front pages.
If not, you can likely go to your personal page and edit settings to show the bookmarks on your FR front page, so you don't need to go back to your personal account each time you wish to access them.
There are 2 kinds of bookmarks on FR.
One that will show up on your pings or posts to you, another on your homepage
THAT’S It ! EUREKA!
There it is - that little barely perceptible word “links” on my home page and then going to My Profile.
I really haven’t made a profile, so didn’t think to check there.
Thank you. I appreciate your help.
All of you
Bkmk this
bookmark ;D
Now I don’t feel so bad: Neither did I.
Just tested: My only complaint is that it doesn’t date the entry, but pretty cool nonetheless without useless ‘bttt’ in comments.
Free republic info.
I don’t bookmark “just” FR articles.
Suggestion.
For a number of years, I copy the article name, on next line the URL, next line some symbol for skip line, next line the FR URL for the article.
I do this daily as I compose, comment about and read articles of interest.
I often use this on social media. This allows me to go back by key words and somewhat chronological date to find old articles that I liked.
A database would make it more searchable, but it is very fast to find things in a simple Text Editor.
Then, you are not dependent on anything else.
I’m not sure that that is correct.
Try this- Go to account.
Go to Manage blocks.
Look for the “bookmark” section, likely in the “Disabled” block. Go to the region column, change Bookmarks region to “Right”, then go on out to color and pick your color. Then go way down to the bottom, and click modify. Go back to forum, then marvel at your handiwork. You should find a new box at the bottom of all your other choices. Just might help to open another FR tab to make this simpler. If you get lost, contact dayglored, he/she is the guru. (he he he.)
