You live in Japan and have for many years and have nothing good to say about these Japanese marching for Trump in Osaka.
So the answer to you is OMAE BAKKA DARO
It's nice to see this rally in Osaka. Even 400 or 500 people is a decent showing considering it would be very hard to get that many people to march for Trump in New York City, Chicago, or Seattle.
I lived three years in Japan (U.S. Navy, Sasebo City in Nagasaki state) and stay connected to Japan through my wife and getting the daily NHK TV satellite feed from TV Japan.
I would say there are two sides of Japan in contention. There's the former Prime Minister Abe side which supports America's leadership role and respects Trump.
Then there's the US Senator Hirono of Hawaii side -- the radical Leftist wingnut people who are fierce opponents of Trump. (About 17% of Hawaii's population is Japanese American).
So in my view, it's very much divided in Japan, just as it is here at home.
The Japanese news mostly mimics U.S. Fake News. ABC News clips with David Muir are a frequent lead-in to NHK news stories of what's happening in American politics. (NOTE: ABC's parent, Disney, is a big entertainment player in Japan, so there are cross-licensing deals.)
Generally, the "approved" Washington Fake News view filters out the truth pretty effectively.
The only opportunity is see the Trump side on TV is the occasional airing of clips of Trump rallies which are practically free for NHK to air.
Then there's the occasional human interest documentary where Japanese reporters interview average Americans and get their different political views on camera. So yes, big media still commit random acts of journalism.
Bottom line. Long term, if we can solve our own Fake News problem, it will have a positive ripple effect in foreign lands.
Thanks for the h/u.
“Amazing.”
Well, they know that if China Joe and Indian-American Kamala win, Japan is toast.
China’s got serious beefs with Japan going decades back, like The Nanjing Massacre.
See post 44.
thank you for sharing
it is very uplifting that people around the world are praying for liberty and rejecting atheistic communism
I appreciate your perspective. Some I would agree with. Other I would not. The TV recently Fuji, Asahi, TBS has been particularly explosive on coverage about Proud Boys, Q-Anon, Boogaloo and the more nutcase wings of MAGA.
I would say 90 percent of Japanese I personally know are rather tired of Trump, have a very bad image (North Korea is seen as a big failure leaving them even more vulnerable to Kim’s nukes and missiles), or just are ambivalent or neutral. That spirited group of small supporters of Trump is in the street not really representative. Most people will say they object to his tweets or the way he talks. Japanese TV runs many unedited voice over comments by the President. On the other hand they don’t know Biden, or will say “he’s too old isn’t he?”
I see you can discuss on merits and facts. That’s refreshing.
What about North Korea? The worst communist regime on the planet.
IMHO, President Trump has encouraged Kim to engage in commerce/business in order to bolster NK’s people, as opposed to expanding their military stance. I think the mentions of Kim without rancor feed Kim’s ego and catch him off guard, so he hesitates or turns away. For a while anyway.
Maybe Kim likes PTrump. Actually going to NK as POTUS does have an impact.
Long term is a we’ll see what sticks kind of thing. Antipathy is cultural.
Not catch but “has caught”
Apologies
Great inspirational video.
NK has not known liberty for how many generations?
Speed The Spread!
Of this video.
May other countries do likewise.
Bottom line: SCOTUS must assert the right and duty of the courts to be the ultimate fact-judge.It doesn’t matter how many newspapers say I’m guilty of a crime, it’s not officially a fact until and unless a court of law finds it to be true.
And it shouldn’t matter how many newspapers say that Trump dishonored the fallen soldiers of WWI, either - and it ultimately wouldn’t if the courts would entertain a libel action allowing Trump to disprove said claim and forcing abject apologies for their propaganda.
How long before Youtube bans it?
Makes me cry. All the American flags. America (with PDJT) gives them hope.
I’ve been banned from FluTube. Too many comments criticizing both the scamdemic and China.
Thank you!
