IMHO, President Trump has encouraged Kim to engage in commerce/business in order to bolster NK’s people, as opposed to expanding their military stance. I think the mentions of Kim without rancor feed Kim’s ego and catch him off guard, so he hesitates or turns away. For a while anyway.
Maybe Kim likes PTrump. Actually going to NK as POTUS does have an impact.
Long term is a we’ll see what sticks kind of thing. Antipathy is cultural.
Not catch but “has caught”
Apologies
He has steadily rebuilt his arsenal. He has increased his nukes to approximately 10-30 per year since Singapore. He has worked on perfecting his anti missile defense defeating technology through about 15 SRB launches since 2019, walked way from the negotiating table in Stockholm, and has unveiled new rocket technology in the most recent Pyongyang military parade. Not a single nuke has been inventoried or surrendered, not a single persecuted Christian has been released from any of the series of political prisons on the Chinese border.... this is not a record of success. I don’t care which party. It joins the failure of adminstrations before it. We would be livid if a President Hitlery Clinton had a four year record of this in 2020.
