It's like any other fad or prank, taken to a new level: you have one 'avant garde artiste' building a sculpture to convey some sort of hidden message, and generally baffle anyone who finds it. Sort of a 21st century Andy Warhol. Then, like mushrooms, more start springing up overnight, because all the copycats want to get in on the act. It'll be forgotten news by Valentine's Day, if it even lasts that long.
