Pope Francis Congratulates 'Deeply Devout' Catholic Biden, Who Calls Abortion an 'Essential Health Care Service'

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Pope Francis prematurely congratulated Joe Biden in a Thursday morning phone call, according to a statement released by the Biden-Harris campaign. In turn, Biden heaped praise on the pope and expressed his desire to work with him on a host of issues for the benefit of “mankind.”

The statement said:

“… Joe Biden spoke this morning with His Holiness Pope Francis. [Biden] thanked His Holiness for extending blessings and congratulations and noted his appreciation for His Holiness’ leadership in promoting peace, reconciliation, and the common bonds of humanity around the world.

“[Biden] expressed his desire to work together on the basis of a shared belief in the dignity and equality of all humankind on issues such as caring for the marginalized and the poor, addressing the crisis of climate change, and welcoming and integrating immigrants and refugees into our communities.”

As described by AP, the “lifelong Roman Catholic” noted his appreciation of the words of the spiritual leader of the world’s approximately 1.2 billion Roman Catholics.

As reported by The Blaze, NPR slobbered all over Biden (my words, not NPR’s) as a “deeply devout person of faith” who “often delivers speeches with references to biblical language or the pope.” Remind you of anyone named Nancy Pelosi? We’ll get to the “practicing and respectful Catholic,” in a bit.

NPR would be right about Biden if being a “deeply devout person of faith” included being a staunch supporter of abortion. Here’s Biden in June (parentheses mine).

“Women’s health care rights have been under attack as states across the country have passed extreme laws restricting women’s constitutional right to choose (abortion) under any circumstance.”

“As President, I will codify Roe v. Wade and my Justice Department will do everything in its power to stop the rash of state laws that so blatantly violate a woman’s protected, constitutional “right to choose (abortion).”

Someone else who has a problem viewing Biden as a “deeply devout person of faith” is Cardinal Raymond Burke, who in an interview just days before the election criticized Biden for presenting himself as a “devout Catholic” while holding a “perfect” record of promoting the “attack on the innocent defenseless unborn” via abortion.

“I can’t imagine that he would present himself as a devout Catholic. He has a record which is unfortunately perfect in promoting the attack on the innocent defense of the unborn. […] He is also not correct on the issues with regard to marriage and the family. […] The great darkness in our nation comes from the wholesale slaughter of the unborn; also the attack on the family; all this gender theory […] and now the attack on religious freedom.”

“Devout Catholic” Joe Biden was unavailable for comment. [sarc]

But Biden was available for a discussion with Hillary Clinton in April, shortly after she no doubt bit her lip as she endorsed him. During a virtual town hall with the bitter two-time loser Hillary, the “devout Catholic” said:

“We need to ensure that women have access to all health services during this crisis. Abortion is an essential health care service.”

Democrats have long been masterful at crafting buzz words and phrases to sugarcoat and/or dramatize their various issues. “Investing” in America, “fair share,” “pro-choice,” and “women’s health care” in reference to abortion-on-demand, among them. But referring to abortion-on-demand as an “essential health care service” is obscene. IMHO, of course.

In a message to the United Nations in September, Pope Francis not only decried abortion and family breakdown, as reported by the Catholic News Agency; he specifically condemned “promoting abortion” as a “so-called ‘essential service.'”

“Unfortunately, some countries and international institutions are also promoting abortion as one of the so-called ‘essential services’ provided in the humanitarian response to the pandemic.

“It is troubling to see how simple and convenient it has become for some to deny the existence of a human life as a solution to problems that can and must be solved for both the mother and her unborn child.”

Yet, Biden, who has long referred to himself as a devout Catholic, is in direct opposition to a nonnegotiable position of the church he professes to devoutly follow.

Speaking of “devout Catholics,” as I mentioned at the top, Nancy Pelosi also fancies herself as such. As is the case with Biden, Pelosi is a staunch defender of abortion-on-demand, who, in 2013, incredibly referred to late-term abortion as “sacred ground.”

“As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this. I don’t think it should have anything to do with politics.”

Yeah, I got nothin’. This vacant partisan hack has said some crazy stuff through the years, but that right there takes the Pelosi cake, in my book. Prominent Catholics and members of the pro-life movement slammed her at the time.

The bottom line.

As I’ve written for years, the hypocrisy of the Left knows no bounds. Regardless of my personal views of on-demand-abortion, I find it difficult to reconcile how someone who professes “deep (Catholic) faith” can be such a staunch defender of abortion — let alone obscenely refer to late-term abortion as “sacred ground.”

Then again, trotting out religion — or anything else — for the sake of political expediency is a “talent” Democrats have honed for decades.

The Left’s view on Catholocism is very similar to their view on the Constitution...it’s a “living” entity which must be made relevant for modern times.

Matt 7:21
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Because if the Pope *didn’t* say “deeply devout”, RedState should be ashamed of themselves for this trash headline.

Don't get me wrong, I TRUST TOTALLY in GOD and HIS CHURCH, my Church , but this Pope is the ANTI-POPE! I will NOT let him stop me from receiving The Holy Sacraments though.

Im Catholic.

I honestly believe this guy is not of God.

He has said too many things to the contrary of Catholic doctrine, and you should look up the video of him slapping a Catholic Pilgrim in Rome when they were reaching out to him for a blessing...the mask slips off for a brief minute.

Whatever the subject, if it’s wrong for Catholics this Pope loves it.

Has Francis spoken directly about abortion lately?

“I honestly believe this guy is not of God.”

Ya THINK?

At least it seems the Catholics in the USA are more open minded and able to recognize that there are problems.

My cousin is a minister in Italy, and says that the majority of the RC population there is totally in on this pope, and never question his policies, beliefs, etc.
