Conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh shared sobering details of his ongoing battle with lung cancer, telling listeners he can no longer deny he’s “under a death sentence.”

Limbaugh updated fans on his condition which he describes as terminal.

“It’s tough to realize that the days where I do not think I’m under a death sentence are over,” he announced.

“Now, we all are, is the point,” he continued. “We all know that we’re going to die at some point, but when you have a terminal disease diagnosis that has a time frame to it, then that puts a different psychological and even physical awareness to it.”

Limbaugh went on to provide details about the progression of his cancer that he said doctors had previously ‘rendered dormant.’

...

Radio host Michael Savage, in an unprovoked and reprehensible attack, slammed Limbaugh for sharing details of his cancer battle with listeners.

Been done with Savage for a while now. He’s become a bit too creepy.

Savage is one to talk about crying. All I ever heard him do was bemoan the fact he’s not popular like Rush, Hannity etc., brag on how many books he’s written and his own I.Q.....life’s too short to to spend time listening to boring narcisistic crap.

Big question is, who will replace Rush when he can no longer do his show? I’m thinking Mark Steyn, but not sure if I can tolerate his voice for more than 15 minutes at a clip.

Imus’s body was in a hearse, on the way to the cemetery and he was still doing his show.

Been done with Savage for a while now.

It's been ages since I listened to Savage. Couldn't stand the hysterics.

The few times I’ve listened to Savage, he’s talked about his own personal health issues.

What an A$$!

Steyn is very witty, and I love it when he is interviewed. However, his approach is slower and more laid back than Rush's. I don't think he would be compelling enough to carry a whole show.

Savage is truly a smear of fecal matter. He exists to me no longer.

“Big question is, who will replace Rush when he can no longer do his show?”

An interesting candidate would be Mandy Connell (KOA Denver noon to three Mountain time)

She’s very witty, very smart, and could easily outmaneuver ANY media hack in a debate. Love listening to her. She has the type of humor and good response that make her a perhaps close to Rush talk show host.

I really think she’s got the goods to go national, and hopefully she’ll get the chance.

There is no replacement for Rush.

We knew he was on loan from God. We will just have to wait for the next blessing.

I agree Steyn would be the only one I can think of to attempt to fill those huge shoes. His voice used to bother me until I realized how sharp and wittty he is and started focusing on what he’s saying not how he sounded. Dudes a riot.

Michael Weiner just sealed his radio fate. He’s been on the decline for some time anyhow.

I disagree- Listening to Steyn increases your IQ a few points

Once a week of Steyn would be awesome

Rush should start doing that now (like Carson did) and get a new host ready

Maybe a different host each day - Mark Steyn Monday, someone else on Tuesday, etc etc

He also used to whine and cray about being passed-over by less qualified minorities, for academia positions, in almost every show. I tired of it quickly, many years ago.

Rush will be around for 5+ years.
My wife has stage-4 cancer diagnosed 3 years ago, still here and cancer is stable with all the great treatments.

Savage got cut down to an hour and will go off totally at the end of this year (other than an hour long podcast). Rush will stick it out as long as he can on air, and who knows will get the slot at some point.

Savage:
Borders, language, culture, buy my books, I'll be right back...
