Insane Claims on MSNBC: 45% Americans in Poverty, 1-in-4 Dies Yearly!
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 10/18/2020 4:39:43 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Guest host Tiffany Cross claimed that, while awaiting the conclusion of negotiations on the new stimulus package, Americans are "starving." Other than people who have fallen off the grid due to addiction or mental illness, perhaps Cross could tell us how many Americans have starved during these negotiations.

Even more egregiously, the Rev. William Barber, a poverty advocate and regular MSNBC guest, offered up some statistics that can only be called insane.

Poverty is not an absence of property. Poverty is an absence of hope and opportunity and the inability to foresee a better future.

Sounds like liberal thinking, redefine terms to mean something else. I was raised Catholic and understood when priest would take a vow of poverty.

So to me poverty is not having the basic necessities to support Maslow’s physiological needs.

I firmly believe America is the land of opportunity, if people choose not to partake it is on them, or also on the ones that work to keep them dependent.

There are people who own very little, but are well fed and happy with their lot in life.

The US is the only nation in the world where the poorest tend to be the fattest.

“. In contrast to international trends, people in America who live in the most poverty-dense counties are those most prone to obesity “
