A huge explosion has occurred in Beirut - click for video

Obviously, something (allegedly fireworks) were on fire well in advance to the mushroom cloud explosion. We can also see what looks like several little flashes in the smoke prior to the big bang.
Presence of strontium, strontium salts for the red?
Maybe munitions from China sneaked in with Chinese fireworks? Wild guess.
Vast majority of people have phones (with cameras) at the ready today.
Seems to be a fire first, with small, low order explosives going off that you can see from some angles. This is what people are saying was “fireworks storage”. That big explosion looks very much like a fuel-air explosion though.
MOAB and bombs like that create that kind of explosion, with this type of huge shockwave that happens afterwards. However, that kind of explosion can also happen more “naturally” as well. You just need some flammable material that is aerosolized, and then to have an explosion, or perhaps even just a spark, in that environment to create this effect.
Normally you would have a small explosion to aerosolize liquid fuel into the surroundings, then another explosion to detonate it. However, if you have a grain silo, where flammable material is already floating in the air everywhere, you don’t really need that first step to get this kind of explosion. If this were a fireworks production or storage facility, I could see some situation where the fire and the smaller explosions aerosolized either flash powder or some other flammable ingredient, and then it would just take one more small explosion for this to be the result.
orange usually mean a Nitrate of some kind, probably breached a large tank and it oxidized a fuel source
Reuters live is showing the aftermath.

Because the fire was raging for a while
If it isn't a jihadist attack on a Christian area, then it is a muzzie work accident.
Supposedly. That is the “story”. Ever see a fireworks factory or storage go up like that? I haven’t, but...
I have seen rocket fuel facilities go up like that. Or something holding rocket fuel.

The layout looks similar, but the taller building doesn’t have the same features. Maybe the angle is wrong though
The force of the explosion looks to my chemistry degree as something that packs a lot of potential energy in a smaller area.
Like rocket fuel, and not “fireworks” rocket fuel.
Ammonium nitrate shipment.
My take, too. A ship carrying “something” (not fireworks) looks like it was afire at a dock, and its cargo went up.
Something.
Something.
I am open to anything, but I don’t buy “fireworks” for an explosion like that.
The drivers are really awful.
