Rejoice, citizens, for good news abounds! This is what sensible people would refer to as a good start. For starters, President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three glorious words in that order) announced this morning that the United States of by-God America is pulling 12,000 troops out of Germany. For those keeping count, that is fully 3,000 more troops than Trump indicated he would be pulling out of that country when the topic was first raised a few weeks ago.
Even better is the reason the President gave for making the move:
Beautiful. Wonderful. Absolutely glorious.
More detail from a report at Politico:
The Pentagon on Wednesday laid out a plan to shift nearly 12,000 service members out of Germany after President Donald Trump repeatedly said the country was delinquent on defense spending.
Top defense leaders said the plan, which would bring 6,400 service members home and reposition nearly 5,600 to other countries in Europe, is part of the Pentagons broader effort to redistribute U.S. forces across the world to better compete with new threats from Russia and China. The move will leave 24,000 troops in Germany, where the United States has stationed a significant number of forces since the end of the Cold War.
Esper stressed that the plan will enhance NATOs ability to deter Russian aggression and strengthen U.S. alliances in Europe, yet also reiterated the presidents criticism of Germany.
Lets be clear: I think Germany is the wealthiest country in Europe, Germany can and should pay more to its defense, It should certainly meet the 2 percent standard and I would argue go above and beyond that, Esper said, noting that the plan has already received very positive feedback from several European countries.
The move will cost in the single-digit billions of dollars, Esper said, and will begin in the coming weeks.
German officials immediately trashed the plan. Norbert Röttgen, chair of the Bundestags foreign affairs committee, noted in a statement to POLITICO that the move would weaken the NATO alliance and reduce the effectiveness of the U.S. military against Russia and in the Middle East. [End] Thus in the end does Germanys spokesman prove the Presidents point: The country that is delinquent in its dues to NATO accusing the country that funds the preponderance of that out-dated alliances operations of moving to weaken it. Stunning hypocrisy that makes one question the wisdom of our country spending another dollar defending the German homeland.
Just as a reminder for those who have forgotten: NATO was created to defend Eastern Europe from the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union hasnt existed for 30 years, and Russia is far less a threat to the free world than China, Iran or even North Korea.
Tell us again why NATO still exists, because the answer is truly no longer clear.
But but but the New York Times assured us a year ago that Brennans security clearance had never been revoked. They wouldnt lie to us, would they?
Apparently, they would. The Washington Examiner reports today that corrupt Obama CIA Director John Brennan discovered he no longer has access to classified information while he was working on a new book.
From the DC Examiner piece:
Former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of President Trump, found out he had been blocked from accessing his classified notes and records while working on his new memoir.
He writes in his forthcoming book, Undaunted: My Fight Against Americas Enemies, at Home and Abroad, that after months of haggling he discovered the CIA was abiding by the directive Trump gave in August 2018 that purportedly forbids anyone in the intelligence community from sharing classified information with me.
The White House confirmed the directive was being enforced, which is news considering the New York Times reported in May of last year that the president never revoked Brennans security clearance.
The President has constitutional authority to control access to classified information, which he exercised here in view of Mr. Brennans erratic behavior and the Presidents belief that access to classified information should be solely for the benefit of the government and the American people, White House spokesman Judd Deere said.
Brennan, who has been clearly implicated in the Obamagate schemes to fix the 2016 election and spy on the Trump campaign and transition team, is currently a target of John Durhams investigation and likely in jeopardy of spending many years in federal prison. Obviously, it would not be in any way appropriate for such a person to maintain a security clearance while the investigation is ongoing.
It is also pretty obvious that Brennans book is designed to build up a fund with which to pay his legal bills, which are no doubt already mounting up. There is no reason why the federal government that he betrayed should allow him continued access to classified information with which he has very clearly demonstrated he cannot be trusted.
President Trump should be celebrated for protecting the nation from a clear and present danger.
That is all.
Best President in my lifetime!
Why do any of these UPOS still have a clearance? The day I left my employment, my clearances were null and void. And I’m way better than any of these assclown traitors.
Same here, that is the $64,000 question isn't it?
Why should we be defending a Turko-Syrian country named “Germany”?
Or rather Deutschland. Or whatever it will be called in Arabic.
Anyone who has been there in the past 10 years knows what it looks like now. The security screeners at Frankfurt are Muslim Turks!! It’s absurd: the victimizers search the intended victims.
This is true. And for children, it’s 40%.
Germany is gone. Who would we be defending it from now? Russians, who are Scandinavian and Eastern Slavs? Ukrainians who are ethnic German?
At this point in history it would be better for Germans and Germany if Russians dominated their eastern and southern flank, as long as they wall it off from the Muslim invasion force.
But it’s really too late.
It’s also pointless for us to be protecting a nascent enemy population.
Brennen should be in prison along with Comey and the entire 3 Ring Circus they operated.
Brennan has enough moles in the CIA that he will still get updates................
Thank you, Mr. President. Although it should have been done in 2017. To defeat the swamp/deep state, you have to be ruthless. And QUICK.
Brenan sues for reinstatement in 5,4,3,2,1
Should be behind bars
The day I left my employment, my clearances were null and void.
That was because you are not part of the Deep State apparatus that “needs” the access to undermine the president and to personally profit from having it.
3 YEARS LATE for pulling Brennan’s tickets!!
John Brennan is one of the worst assholes ever AND represents the slime and scum of the SWAMP.
I would love to see 1000 Patriots surround his house and “PROTEST” his very existence. Spray paint AMERICAN TRAITOR on the street in front of his house.
hanged, drawn and quartered. that is all.
LOL! I’m part of the shallow state apparatus.
To defeat the swamp/deep state, you have to be ruthless. And QUICK.
Strength, resolve and determination are all needed to defeat any enemy. Without it you stand no chance of winning at anything.
To your point, we collectively have to toughen up. There is no other option.
“The Washington Examiner reports today that corrupt Obama CIA Director John Brennan discovered he no longer has access to classified information while he was working on a new book.”
Maybe if Brennan actually followed real news outlets he would have learned his security clearance was revoked two years ago. Way to be on top of things, Mr Ex-Spy Chief.
What a putz.
LOL! Im part of the shallow state apparatus.
You’re an honorable person. Its a concept foreign to those self-serving bastards in the Deep State.
I was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base from June 84 to June 86, with it being my first assignment in the Air Force, and was one of those once in a lifetime experiences.
I was 19 years old when I arrived, and in many ways I grew up there. There’s no doubt that I have an emotional attachment to the base, but it’s a part of the closure. It’s happening in parts. Around 5,000 are being sent stateside, and about the same are being sent to other bases in Europe. Incidentally, there’s a relatively small amount of US Army soldiers on the base, as well.
I lay aside my love foe the base and without reservation believe that President Trump is doing the right thing. Poland has been asking us to place some of our troops there.
Germany did this to themselves by not paying the required 2% of their GDP to the military effort.
One part of the contract we have with Germany states that retired US troops cannot shop in the BX/PX/commissaries on the American bases in the country. A lot of American military members retire in Germany, and they are forcing us them to shop on the German economy.
Goodbye to them!
