A man was killed in downtown Austin Saturday night in the midst of a protest against police violence, and police said they have taken the shooter into custody.
The shooting happened about 9:50 p.m. at Fourth Street and Congress Avenue, EMS officials said. Austin police said the male victim was carrying a weapon when he approached a vehicle. The person in the vehicle then shot the man.

Garrett Foster, the Black Lives Matter protester who was fatally shot by a motorist in Austin on Saturday night was caught on camera saying that the “people who hate us” are “too big of p-ssies to actually do anything about it” when asked why he was carrying a rifle.
“They don’t let us march in the streets anymore, so I got to practice some of our rights,” he responded.
The interview then asked if he felt like he would need to use it.
“Nah,” he responded. “I mean, if I use it against the cops I’m dead. I think all the people that hate us and want to say shit to us are too big of p-ssies to stop and actually do anything about it.”
In the interview, he confirmed that he was carrying the famous communist weapon AK-47! Video below:

All these protesters have no idea that if they achieve their stated goal, that protests like the one they are participating in will not be tolerated by the totalitarian rulers they help usher into power. The utopia they believe will magically happen is a myth as evidenced by any and all previous examples throughout all of recorded history. Maybe if they were taught actual history they would understand this, but I doubt it.
During the demonstration, a vehicle had honked, turned down a road and then sped toward protesters, witness Michael Capochiano said.
The vehicle became surrounded by shouting protesters, and Foster approached the vehicle carrying his AK-47, Capochiano recalled.
The driver then stuck a gun out of the car window and fired several shots, hitting Foster, before speeding away, according to the witness.
But Foster's mother said the man 'got out of his car and started firing shots, and my son was shot three times'.

A person’s vital zone us about one 50th the size of a fridge, and about 2.5 times larger than a desert plate....

Isn’t the AK a low velocity rifle? Wouldn’t a low velocity rifle make a deeper sound? I admit I’m not an expert on the subject.

One problem is Travis County (Austin) just elected a Soros/communist/ socialist District Attorney. What is a justified shoot in a normal location might not be there.
Police report that AK boy pointed his weapon at the car before being shot, killed. They also report that the driver fired first. Another person in crowd “may have opened fire on the car as it drove away.”
I suppose we’ll hear multiple sides of the story before long.

The media has gone from bias to outright lying. Anybody who bothered to watch the videos of what happened can hear the multiple gunshots, and see the Foster approaching the car with his weapon at the ready.
Does anybody think that a police officer wouldn't have shot Foster in the same circumstances?
If true then we have more dangerous Antifa gunmen on the loose. There is no legal basis for a civilian to be firing at a car leaving the scene of a shooting in those circumstances.
Looking at the video it would have been wildly reckless with the crowds that were present in all directions.

It’s unlikely the human ear can discern what the weapon was that produced the sound impulse without additional info. The recording did not have sufficient fidelity to make a determination berween an AR, AK or pistol. The sound Impulse is approx 165dB at the muzzle for all, depending where the observer is relative to the direction of the bore and whether the muzzle has a break.
Most have seen photos of the Antifa soldier with an AK. Since he was presumably the guy who died, it’s natural to deduce that it must be an AK. The one video I saw did not clearly show what kind of weapon he was holding. This afternoon in AZ I heard a news report that described the dead mans weapon as a shotgun. Nowhere have I heard the weapon described as a shotgun in any the threads I’ve read to dare. I saw a cop place a rifle in his squad car and it was short like an AK or AR carbine, not as long as a shotgun.
I counted two series of shots: 5 and 3. But that is all I know for certain at this point. I’m waiting for more stories to come out with corroborating accounts.

You’re right. All reports from witnesses say he fired 5 shots from the AK-47 at the driver, who then fired 3 shots from a pistol and killed him.
Some newsreader girl on Fox News, halfway through Levin’s show, said a driver plowed into protesters and then shot and killed a protester. They need to fire whoever wrote that crap for the girl to read!
And probably none of the twits tweeting were even there when it happened.
