New Surveillance Video Shows George Floyd Moments Before He Died – It Looks Like He Is Not Resisting

Yesterday a video surfaced from George Floyd as he was pinned down by a cop and later died.

It happened Monday night, when cops were responding to a “forgery in progress.” Police arrived and saw the suspect sitting in a car. According to the Department, the man resisted arrest so he was placed in handcuffs, adding “he appeared to be suffering medical distress.”

This has caused tensions around the country and things are not looking good.

The Minneapolis Police Department first requested an independent investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and later contacted the FBI as well after the force received additional information that indicated the incident “could be a question of civil rights,” Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said Tuesday.

Floyd’s family has reportedly retained the services of Benjamin Crump, a well-known civil rights attorney who previously represented the family of Michael Brown, a black teenager whose 2014 killing by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, helped propel the Black Lives Matter movement into national prominence.

Arradondo announced that four officers involved in the incident had been fired Tuesday afternoon, which Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said was “the right call.”

But a new video from a surveillance camera has surfaced and it might cause more tensions.

A nearby restaurant, Dragon Wok, captured the initial moments of George’s run-in with Minneapolis police on a camera set up outside. Based on the video, this started as a traffic stop of some sort, which ended with George being led away in cuffs.

The video shows 2 vehicles parked curbside, and eventually, 2 officers approach one of the cars and ask everyone to step out. A man and a woman emerge from the passenger side, while George is taken out by another officer on the driver’s side … seemingly struggling at first.

The cops get George to stand up and lead him over to the sidewalk where they sit him down. He isn’t doing a whole lot of resisting the rest of the way.

Two of the cops fired over the arrest of black man George Floyd have already been investigated for their roles in previous use-of-force incidents, it’s been revealed.

Derek Chauvin, 44, the officer filmed kneeling on Floyd’s neck during his arrest, is a 19-year veteran of the force who was investigated over a fatal police shooting in 2006.

Chauvin was investigated for his role in the 2008 shooting of Ira Latrell Toles during a domestic assault call. Toles was wounded after police said he went for an officer’s gun and Chauvin shot him.

Two years earlier Wayne Reyes, 42 was killed by officers after allegedly pulling a shotgun on the six cops, which included Chauvin, The Star Tribune reports.

A second officer involved in Monday’s arrest, Tou Thao, is said to been part of a $25,000 out of court settlement after being sued for using excessive force in 2017.

In a lawsuit obtained by the DailyMail.com shows Thao was sued for using excessive force in an arrest where he was accused of punching and kicking a handcuffed suspect ‘until his teeth broke’. In any case, there is no need for people to spark racial tension as an Asian-American was also involved in the case. this is just police brutality and it’s something that needs to concern all of us no matter the race!

These cops should have mastered the technique of speeding to the call at 25 mph with sirens blaring. In the unhappy event he was still there when they arrived...give him a stern warning.

Let society enjoy the world of crime they clearly want.

No, you don’t know any of this stuff. You don’t know what dude died of. You don’t know how much weight the officer was putting on him. You don’t know dude was “asphyxiated” because you do not know what he even died of. You don’t know the officer’s side of things. You don’t even know what went on before the knee went on the neck.

And it makes other cops look bad and creates strife.

The best solution here to quiet the masses woudl be charge these cops (all present) with capital murder and if convicted execute them.

That might send a message better despite the fact it woudl probably be easier on them than life in general population

My son in-law is a state trooper. We’ve had this discussion. He would lose his job if he put his knee on anyone’s neck that long.

These guys did not act well.

To add, the last Republican mayor of Minneapolis served almost 50 years ago.

You can bet that this mayor will play the role of "I am just a bystander", and the sheep will buy it.

“I would like to see a return to walking your beat. Get to know those you are serving. Have a vested interest in the people you protect.”

That’s romantic but it has two problems. One, you ready to pay for about 10 times the number of cops? Or to accept that a 9/11 response will be much slower with a much less well equipped cop who has no ability to do anything to stop bad guys who widely use cars?

And two, that being super close, and really “getting to know people” is a direct path to corruption. The closer you are... the “closer” you are. I give you New York, Boston, etc.

Sorry.

Don’t know him.

You seem to have a lot of feelings about him.

Were you close?

In post 35. Put the photo of the low life and his family up, put Argery’s face up. Put Saint Skittles up. Put the gentle giant’s up.

Add the meme “I would never tell a lie”.

You don’t know any of that. You have no idea what dope he had in his system, or anything about his health.

In fear of video photography, a lot of police will now repeatedly yell “stop resisting!” at someone, whether they are actually resisting, or not, or even unconscious or even dead.

“Several of the ex-cops had their backs turned to the guy as their partner killed him”

They were facing the crowd that was gathering around. The crowd assisted in the death by helping distract cops that might have noticed him struggling.

Also, the moron would still be alive if he woulda just got in the car and not struggled for 10 minutes. It’s almost impossible to get someone into a car who bows up and refuses.

There’s no question the actions of this Officer killed George Floyd. To think otherwise has nothing to do with constructive thinking, but justification of murder.

The method this cop used is not part of any police protocol. Then to put his hands in his pockets showed just how pompous he really is.

It does not matter what occurred. He was not reacting in a threatening way at all while in the ground. If the cop feared for his life ( while this man who was handcuffed behind his back ), I’m sure he was taught other measures than to put body weight on someone’s neck for 5-7 minutes.

And even more so if the cop thought he was under the influence, that means Floyd was even more vulnerable.

let’s put a 180 pound man’s knee on your neck while handcuffed for 7 minutes. 2 others holding down your legs. Let’s see how it turns out.

It”s ok, they just shattered his winepioe because he was carrying an assault weapon. And you will cheer this, because the cops are always right to you no matter what.

Wrong:

A neck restraint is listed as a “non-deadly force option” in the Minneapolis Police Department Policy & Procedure Manual, according to the police.

The Unconscious Neck Restraint shall only be applied in the following circumstances:

On a subject who is exhibiting active aggression, or;
For life saving purposes, or;
On a subject who is exhibiting active resistance in order to gain control of the subject; and if lesser attempts at control have been or would likely be ineffective.
Neck restraints shall not be used against subjects who are passively resisting as defined by policy.

“It is a control technique, so you can make sure that if you control the head, you can control the rest of the body,” Masson explained. “But of course, there are parameters on that. We do a light pressure on there, just enough to stop the threat and we also make sure that, of course, the person isn’t going to be harmed in any way.”

We do not know a cause of death, or how much pressure Chauvin was applying.
