CoVid Lunacy

Posted on 05/24/2020 5:59:31 AM PDT by Auslander154

I'm not sure if anyone here has started a list yet of the stupidest and craziest and non-sensical lockdown rules and edicts handed down by the tyrannical despots over the past 3 months or more; but I'd like to start one.

And if you know, give the state or city which mandated the rule. Thanks.

I will start it off with No Singing in Churches in Minnesota mandated by governor Walz. Only to be bettered by his own mayor in Minneapolis where everyone 2 and older must wear a mask.

One other thing I can't understand is when President Trump issues an executive order about anything, there is a judge somewhere that will put a halt to it instantly. Why hasn't that happened with all these idiotic coronavirus canons? All the judges can't be liberal loons.

Thanks again, and I hope one and all have a wonderful Memorial Day with friends and family.

“”All the judges can’t be liberal loons. “”

Very much like educators.

In gov. polesmoker’s paradise in Colorado, pot stores and liquor stores were deemed ‘essential’.

Oberst Gruppenfuehrer Whitmer deemed a gay sex club essential.

And of course, look how many of these moron governors deem abortion clinics essential.

It really shows the difference between liberals and conservatives.

I live in Maryland where we have a RINO governor who really, really wants to be a democrat

I long for the days when liberals were just “stupid” and “loony”.

What they are doing these days is far, far worse than that.

The WHOLE thing was all BULLSHIT. Only select mixing was allowed....but it WAS allowed, thereby defeating the purpose.

most telling is how FakeNewsMSM is obsessive, and virtually monolithic, in its support for never-ending lockdowns, yet they are considered “ESSENTIAL”! some more of the lunacy:

23 May: Deutsche Welle: Coronavirus latest: Spain anti-lockdown protest draws thousands of far-right supporters
Several thousand followers of Spain’s far-right VOX party have staged a vehicle rally through Madrid against the lockdown. ***In Germany, the number of protesters saw a sharp drop.
The country has seen frequent protests against lockdown curbs despite starting to ease the measures from April 20...

18:45 Spain’s death toll from COVID-19 rose by 48 in the past day to 28,678, the health ministry said...
The figures were released as thousands of people, led by the country’s right-wing Vox Party, gathered in cars and motorbikes in Madrid and other cities to protest the Spanish government’s handling of the nation’s coronavirus crisis.
Vox accused Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’ government of lying about the impact of the health crisis and of violating rights by confining people to their homes and closing businesses during the lockdown...

06:20 The UK is planning to require companies to cover 20% to 30% of the wage subsidy paid to furloughed workers from August to reduce the state’s share of the pandemic-related aid package. The Times reports that employers would also be required to restart paying their share of national insurance contributions, which amount to 5% of a worker’s wage...

05:27 A police officer has been shot in Chile during protests against restrictions on public movement to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Police said in a tweet that a bullet hit the officer’s left arm during riots in the Cerrillos neighborhood, part of the greater Santiago de Chile area.
Police targeted demonstrators with a water cannon before a person ran into the street and fired in their direction, a video published by a radio station showed. The greater Santiago de Chile area remains under quarantine, so many people cannot go to work. Although the government has announced the distribution of food parcels, delivery has been delayed...

03:35 Demonstrations against coronavirus restrictions are once again expected to take place in several German cities this weekend, with protests announced in Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt, and Hanover.
The demonstration in Stuttgart is forecast to be smaller than the one last weekend that drew 5,000 people. In Cologne, some 500 people plan to make a human chain. In Bavaria, 60 separate protests are expected.
Last weekend, thousands gathered in cities around Germany to protest restrictions on public life put in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Many argue that the restrictions violate rights guaranteed by Germany’s constitution.
Other groups also turned out for counter-demonstrations against conspiracy theories and right-wing groups that police have warned could exploit the current situation...

Peru has extended its state of emergency and national lockdown until the end of June...
By June 30, Peru will have been under lockdown for more than three months. “We must move to a new coexistence, which allows us as a society to be more caring, more responsible, disciplined, respectful of the minimum standards of behavior so as not to harm the people we love the most,” President Martin Vizcarra said...

DW insinuates Germany has seen a sharp decrease in the number of protesters, but omits:

24 May: Russia Today: Police in Hamburg use WATER CANNONS to disperse demonstrators against anti-lockdown protest (VIDEO, PHOTOS)
The anti-lockdown gathering was greenlit to go ahead after organizers agreed to cap the number of its participants at 750 instead of some 3,500-4,000, as originally requested.
Less than 20 minutes after the meeting officially kicked off, at about 3:17 p.m. local time, the maximum allowed number of participants had already arrived, police said, noting that it had to block more people from coming...
One of the speakers at the rally argued that more people have died due to planned surgeries being postponed than from the virus itself...

It is revealing how many local and state politicians salivate at becoming little dictators.

Voters in such localities should take notice — you voted them in. It does seem that voters in a few recent special elections (CA, VA) have voted some of them out.

There’s a lot more from MN, but my favorite idiocy comes in the form of this little known edict:
On March 27, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz issued executive order 20-23 which stated that prescriptions for “hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine must contain a diagnosis appropriate for the use of these medications and be dispensed for no more than 30 days” and authorized the state’s Board of Pharmacy to enforce the order.

In Etterbeek, Belgium it’s mandatory to wear masks when outside between Monday and Saturday from 8am to 6pm if you are over 12 years old, but only in specific streets of the borough and not the full length of the streets - for example, in Rue Gray, masks are compulsory in front of number 2 and between numbers 1 and 17.

That’s all unless you are within a radius of 15 meters from a school, in which case masks are mandatory Monday to Friday 8am to 9am, Wednesdays from 11:30am to 12:30pm and Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Prime Minister Sophie Wilmes said that a ban on non-essential movements introduced on March 18, remains in place until May 18th. Unless you want to go shopping, which will be allowed as of May 11, or invite as many as four friends to your home, which will be allowed from May 10, though it’s encouraged that you host them in your garden.

Belgium is renowned for its complicated federal system, its six parliaments, and long periods without a functioning government.

The above ridiculous regulations were posted on bloomberg.com

All the judges can’t be liberal loons.

They all are required to graduate from law school. Many may go in as conservatives and graduate as liberals.
