It has been alleged by multiple officials of the Obama administration, including in The Post, that the president and his then-national security adviser, John Bolton, dissolved the office at the White House in charge of pandemic preparedness. Because I led the very directorate assigned that mission, the counterproliferation and biodefense office, for a year and then handed it off to another official who still holds the post, I know the charge is specious.
Now, Im not naive. This is Washington. Its an election year. Officials out of power want back into power after November. But the middle of a worldwide health emergency is not the time to be making tendentious accusations.

Fake news. Again.
He did put her in her place....and had every right to...Hope she enjoys her crow.
Anybody who believes anything that THE WASHINGTON POST claims & that is more controversial than the sports scores, qualifies as a FOOL of the 1st rank.
When I lived near DC, the “news” paper was commonly known, even by subscribers, as THE COMPOST or PRAVDA ON THE POTOMAC, as the Post LIES about as frequently as the paper prints the TRUTH.
(In all but name, THE COMPOST is nothing but a “house organ” of the RADICAL LEFT of the DNC/DNCC.)

She got the accusation out so many will believe it mission accomplished.
Fake news. Again.

Lying news. These people are not news outlets; they are purveyors of propaganda. And they are cranking it out at high speed right now.

Again
The retraction was in Section D, Page 33, in small print.
bkmk
And Democrats have vocabularies that include, "specious." Why can't Republicans attack and attack hard?
That’s just ONE of the lies a high school “friend” on my FB has been spamming FB with....I have since unfriended the idiot, who has a masters, doctorate, etc....but is an idiot lib who thinks AOC has great ides....aaagghhhh
Flip-flop? I don’t see how them providing both diverging opinions points to a case of flip-flopping. What it does is surprise me that they did offer both opinions. That said I think the first opinion was a baldfaced lie. She was engaging in tendentious accusations for sure, as Tim Morrison so aptly called it. 8>).
Yep! Just like my elderly sister in law called me yesterday all frantic literally in tears saying she heard the mediaVOMITS reporter on our local news that grocery stores were going to shut down..UGH!! Folks our war is with the mediaVOMITS when do we fight them? When?
This is for our survival and no one including myself are doing diddley squat!! Folks they are winning and I hate to say this but Biden might be your next president if we don’t fight the enemy!! Ideas?
Notice how the claim he had closed the office was presented as “news” but the op=ed that he didn’t was clearly labeled “opinion.”
Only two explanations:
1: They knew the truth and lied.
2: They are so stupid they did not do their homework and do some background checking.
Lying and incompetence - the two pillars of modern journalism.

Tendentious?
Let’s just have at it and get this over with.
When?
When we have small, transportable EMP makers.
