Getting tired of all this WINNING yet? No, the stock markets didnt set new records on Thursday. But, hey, WINNING is never a straight-line progression, right? No, Thursdays WINNING came in other areas.
Just hours after we wrote about her here at the Campaign Update, corrupt former U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu outright resigned from the Treasury Department, where she had been reassigned weeks ago in anticipation of her being confirmed by the Senate as Treasurys undersecretary for terrorism and financial crimes. That opportunity went away after President Trump smartly pulled her nomination on Tuesday. Thus, one more deep state embed is now out of the federal bureaucracy.
Too bad, so sad.
No doubt we will see Ms. Liu pop up as a high-paid contributor at CNN or MSNBC in the coming weeks, because thats what all these deep state skunks and snakes do.
In other news, President Trump and his Attorney General are now feuding. Or are they? Its hard to know, really.
William Barr gave what on the surface appeared to be a damage control interview to ABC News Thursday, during the course of which he complained about the Presidents tweeting habits, saying at one point that I cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me.
The Attorney General also stated that I think its time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases, referring apparently to the Presidents Tuesday tweets about the DOJs conduct of the Roger Stone case, which by any rational measure has been outrageous and abusive.
Interestingly, in response to the Barr interview, White House Spokesman Stephanie Grisham said that President Trump has full faith and confidence in Attorney General Barr to do his job and uphold the law and he wasnt bothered by the comments at all and he has the right, just like any American citizen, to publicly offer his opinions.
Translated into Trump Speak, that reads Hey Bill, you have the right to speak your mind, and so do I. Deal with it. Just do your damn job.
So, what we have here is, at least on the surface, a public spat between the President and his Attorney General. In light of the Democrat/media hoax swirling around the men over the Roger Stone case, however, which falsely alleges that the President abused his power by tweeting his outrage over the draconian sentence recommended by DOJ, its a mighty convenient spat indeed.
Think about it: What better time for an Attorney General to assert his independence from his boss than when hes just been summoned to testify before a circus-clown-filled House Judiciary Committee in 6 weeks over allegations that he is not independent at all? What better time for Mr. Barr to do that when his lead investigator in the inquiry into the origins of the Obama-era spying on the Trump Campaign/Transition Team is preparing to start revealing his findings?
What better time for Mitch McConnell, John Thune and other prominent Republicans on Capitol Hill to come out and support Mr. Barrs contention that he should be left alone to do his job, which they did on Thursday? This tactic if it is one wont stop the Democrat efforts to smear Barr dead in its tracks, but it does under-cut their narrative, especially when Barr goes to one of the most biased and corrupt mainstream media outlets of all to use as his platform.
We all must remember that its the narrative that matters here. The narrative is all the left cares about to them, truth has no real meaning anymore. The narrative dictates their daily conduct and indeed, for many of them, forms the very basis of their being. Whenever the narrative fails to have its desired impact, their effectiveness is diminished, and so is their power to influence the public.
So, maybe Barrs interview and the Presidents response were exactly what they appeared to be: A public spat over the Presidents social media habits. Or maybe, as has so often been the case in the past, the President and his Administration were deploying a tactic designed to subtly promote their own preferred narrative about Mr. Barrs independence in advance of Durhams investigation finally starting to bear fruit.
It sure will be fun to find out.
That is all.
Ahah! See my post from yesterday! Called it!
According to Mr. GG2 apparently Q is promoting this theory.
Quite possible that Barr was aware of the biases in the jury already and was waiting for the right moment to out it.
the way to start trouble and keep it going.. is to gossip about it endlessly.
man!! they wont let it lie!
barr could have said something privately to Trump.. and he knows it... he just stirred up a hornets nest and he had to know it before he said it.
if theyd get the daggone reports finished ... it would help deflect all that gossip energy.
People said it was staged between Trump and Sessions.
I agree...The big thing is....Barr was aware BEFORE Trump tweeted. Barr wasn’t happy with the tweet....but he called out the media at the same time.
The other big thing is the jury was tainted and looking more and more like the jury foreman was a plant.
this was just a case of bad timing by Trump...he saw the report about Stone, and tweeted....not realizing that Barr was already moving on it....and thats all the media needed to try and twist it. At times he tweets like hes still a private citizen and not President...gotta be smart. Hes got the best guy possible as A.G......Barr knows exactly what Comey and all of em were up too...whether he can prove it is gonna be hard....its not easy nailing dirty cops. Barr has the best guy looking into it...but make no mistake...he knows what they were trying to do.
Judge Jackson is going to have no choice but to delay sentencing and hold a hearing on the motion, (the second since the first was denied), for a new trial because of jury misconduct. The first motion concerned a juror who was/is associated with the IRS, (no other details of the bias given that I have read), but this one, on top of the first, will make it impossible for the judge to easily brush aside. I expect that Barr’s folks will not contest a motion for a new trial, and possibly a venue change out of DC.
Everyone knew what case it was about- due to the twitter from President referencing Stone. Due to it hitting every news station.
When it involves a dramatic news story about 4 prosecutors leaving, resigning a case and misconceptions about AG handling a case, he is well within his rights to call a press conference to clear the air.
Trump has come along, a Master stick stirrer, using Tweets and has taken the hits to expose the filth and grime that has been hidden to the American people. He knew it would take dramatic actions to dig up these graves, to show the bones to the American people. The arrest and sentencing of Roger Stone is a travesty to Justice. Oh, but that happened long ago, given a short blip on page 3 and forgotten. However, Trump came along and dug it up, exposed it to the American people and now it is getting the attention that it should have initially received.
You can go back through Russiagate, Ukraine and Impeachment and see how Trump kept stirring it up, at his expense, just to let the American people see the reality of how deep and dark the forces are...hidden from the American people by the corrupt media. Only by this tactic, stirring the pot/tweeting, utilized by President Trump, has the American people been shown the corruption and how deep it goes. The man is a genius and a Master player.
I'm not sure about that. The Twitter message posted around the same time about Comey, Strzok and Page seems to be absolutely more relevant to concerns that the AG might raise about doing his job right.
Trump can opine on anything he wants and Barr can express opinions (real or staged) on anything too.
Incorrect. There’s an investigation going on, more resources were given to Bull Durham.
The investigation into SpyGate is international and expanding.
AG Barr isn’t blocking any of it. Where that ends, we don’t know.
Everyone is waving their hands about the Stone sentencing.
It’s going to be appealed and reviewed afterward, and Stone won’t get 9 years. He might not even ever get fitted with an orange jumpsuit and might end up doing community service.
And nobody knows what Durham is going to say or do.
Who cares about republican led investigations? I can tell you criminal democrats dont because nothing ever becomes of them. Republicans have been investigating for nearly 4 years and how many democrat criminals have been arrested? More importantly you dont actually know to what extent Durham is investigating anything, or if anything at all. Have you heard of any significant subpoenas or anyone and I mean anyone being deposed? nope.
There were so many freepers here that believed huber was conducting a major investigation. He was doing NOTHING! and I called it here over and over but people would not believe their own eyes.
Meanwhile members of team Trump are already in prison. Stop believing the never ending hype and trust your own eyes. Ask yourself, what actions can I actually see happening that indicates an arrest and prosecution is eminent? I dont think you will come up with much.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/doj-wont-pursue-criminal-charges-against-mccabe.
After two years of investigations the DOJ is NOT going to seek criminal prosecution of Andy Mcabe. This is BARR. He is not going to do anything and neither is Durham.
Never expected anything on this as there’s bigger fish involving McCabe and SpyGate.
That’s underway. Thanks anyway.
To whom are you responding?
Trump Tweets are essential. Its his only way to bypass the Fake News.
And an easy way for the President to grab control of the news cycle for 24-72 hours at his whim. One well placed tweet will do it and he knows it.
Our President is a master of stagecraft. Anyone who seriously believes that the AG would create a public brawl with President Trump has some learnin to do.
The premise of the original article posted was Everyone Hates Trump tweeting. You probably recognized my quote from the original article. Its fake news. Im sure we agree on our take of the value and importance of President Trumps tweeting. The media certainly isnt reporting accurately on anything the President says or does.
