Who wants to participate in a music play-off bracket-type poll for best songs of the '70s?
2 and 5 years ago I ran "tournaments" to pick the best songs of the '70s and '80s, based on Billboard rankings, so only the best of the best were included!
You can view how this played out here:

I want to do that for the '60s, and some posters expressed interest in the '60s back then.

I’m in, but would have a hard time just to get a list to 10 top tunes.
I graduated in 75

Which means anything. Back then, the lists were much more eclectic than since the 60s. With some brief exceptions.
Good. I would suggest that we limit number of contributions from any one act to 1 or 2. In the case of the Beatles, who dominated the decade, to one pre and one post drugs (e.g. "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"/"Hey, Jude")

Unfortunately I just stick to the BB hot 100 on the year, which means only the top 7 get considered as a way to pare down to the 64 needed for a good play-off bracket. Yes we could do something that covers all thousand songs, but thats a bit long-winded!
So yes, e.g., there are 4 Beatles and 2 Beach Boys.

Im too young also, much less running it. But I am eclectic and have always loved all kinds and eras of music. Hell I know lots of American Revolution tunes and marches!

Thanks for the Ping!
Even though I was BORN in 1960, my Mom ALWAYS had music on in the house, so I pretty much know all of the popular music of that time! :)

The best Beatles song of all time is
The Girl That I Love which, for some reason, didn't reach Number One.

I had older sisters who had Top 40s on nonstop from the early 60s.
Unfortunately, I have a somewhat freakish memory and remember the crap with the good!
1961 hits included Lawrence Welk, Patsy Cline, and Dave Brubek. Fragmentation of markets was still ahead.
