Disney owns the entertainment multiverse. If they havent already popped out some animated or kids show about some age old story, they will at some point. Yet the big trend in the entertainment industry is to try to remake any old thing. Disney now is trying with Home Alone. Thats a mistake, but there are ways to make it more relevant for the modern day.

They basically hit the exact point where entertaining and ridiculousness meet. Really hard to do. My grandson loves it.
Butttt .... Disney should remake everything.
Like other Lib fronts they are bankrupt of anything creative and more focused on undoing things that were politically incorrect.
Dumbo pirated tusk victim
Snow Black
Peter Pan a real Fairy
Mickey Mouse tranny with lesbo Minney
Go Disney !
Same reasons you can’t remake Die Hard. Cell phones.
“Hello, Domino’s? I’d like to order a pizza to Nakatome Tower, 30th floor. Oh, and send some police. Thanks.”
I hated the original movie when it came out.
Will Donald Trump reprise his role for the reboot?
1) Kevin will be gay and/or a transgender kid
2) The robbers are gay and seeing Kevin home alone, they want him in bed. Kevin accepts
3) The neighbor boy took a picture of Kevin having sex with the robbers, so he blackmails Kevin to dress in a wedding dress and get married. (The neighbor is a Muslim, and want Kevin as his wife instead of the camel he is doing)
4) DizzyMoron reboot bombed at the box office, so they had to declare bankruptcy and sell off their theme parks (to the Family Friendly Disney Company), ABC (to FreeRepublic) and ESPN (to the taxpayers of Connecticut who paid for the start of ESPN), before shutting down and the Board going to jail. 😋
Remake Home alone?
Why not?
The boy protagonist could be a New York kid rebelling against his liberal -socialist parents who uses his fathers tool shop to make 12 gauge ammunition charged with blue dot and weird loads of sprinkles, rock salt, and a chemical.dye charged high pressure washer device, as well as the usual booby traps laced with a little high voltage wiring and a personally re-manufactured cattle prod, with a few specially modified Este’s rocket kits, all tied to a computer operated security system coordinated by a hacked version of Siri.
No, Hillary Clinton, a few Dems and a few AntiTrumpers will be in his place...
Well, you missed out on the racial/immigrant angle.
But not bad.
We were just watching Home Alone 2 and that scene came up. My kids were like, “Is that the President? Is that Trump? Why’s he in a movie?”
They have other reasons for the live action remakes - profitability. They don’t have to pay for the scripts or music again. And they can recycle all the same mass produced merchandise.
Remakes are a substitute for creativity. The original Home Alone was enough. Not all that great; remake won’t be any better.
Oh, and forget "woke" forget social justice, forget agenda... Basically just forget trying to "enlighten" your audience Disney - we don't care. We want to be entertained. Stay in your lane, if we want political commentary or education there are far better sources than someone who draws cartoon figures and brings fiction to the big screen for a living. You may think you're all that, but you're not. Stop trying, it is embarrassing.
The advent of ubiquitous cell phones makes the story untenable.
Why anyone should waste their time writing an article on whether or not Disney should remake Home Alone:
1. None.
2. See No. 1
