Just as Democrats carve out certain parts of the 2nd Amendment while intentionally ignoring the rest that clearly says "shall not be infringed," this time they attempt to carve out the Impeachment Clause from the rest of the U.S Constitution that effectively:
1.) Causes a part of the Constitution to not be subject to checks and balances.
2.) Elevates the House above the co-equal branches of the Executive and Judiciary through their claims yesterday they don't need the courts to be the arbiter over whether or not witnesses must comply to summons, papers and information they deem to be pertinent must be turned over to them, etc. They command and the Executive must obey and the judiciary us neutered.
3.) Elevates the House and demotes and weakens the Executive and Judiciary through a despotic and imperial vision for and of the Impeachment Clause.
If this stands, Dems will have effectively untethered the Impeachment Clause from the rest of the Constitution.
Concern trolls here no doubt will secretly rejoice.
It’s laughable. And would invite a court challenge were there any chance at all of this succeeding.
I always thought that was the way checks and balances worked.

If this “Obstruction of Congress” idiocy is allowed to stand, then the bastards can impeach any President that vetoes any of their ill advised bills can be impeached.

Impeachment is quid pro quo for Nancy Pelosi. She’s second in line for the presidency via the 25th amendment:

Nancy Pelosi needs to remove herself from the line of succession to the presidency or she needs to recuse herself from any involvement in the impeachment process. By the 25th Amendment, she stands to benefit from the impeachment. That’s quid pro quo.
If you can find a tape where she says after Trump, then Penske, that would be enough to show conspiracy to overthrow the Government.
Yep, any involvement by Pelosi is clearly quid pro quo and a clever lawyer could find many more charges to lob at her regarding this sham impeachment. She clearly stands to personally benefit from the impeachment.
Actually, the Supreme Court today negated the House Impeachment charge of Obstruction of Congressional Investigation by granting judicial review of the multiple lower court cases brought against Trump about his tax returns etc. Since the Court accepted review they essentially ruled that the Executive is entitled to Court review in disputes with Congress.

It was dumb (and dangerous) to put the Speaker in line for the presidency. The old way was much better: Vice President, then the cabinet members. Keep executive succession in the executive branch.
And the VP can’t vote on an impeachment as that person stands to be President if sitting President is impeached.

So then impeachment, if it occurs, could be ultimately overturned by SCOTUS if the House was deemed by them to have ran roughshod over other parts of the Constitution.
The Senate should quickly vote that Trump is not guilty. The Justice Dept then issues a warrant for the arrest of Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi and all other relevant parties for attempting to overthrow the US Govt. If convicted the traitors are hanged.
They can be hoist on their own pitard
