Vanity: Social Leftism Bills Pre-Filing in Virginia
Virginia Legislative Information System ^ | November 22, 2019 | Me

Posted on 11/22/2019 6:41:31 AM PST by C19fan

A couple of weeks ago the Democrats gained control of both houses of the Virginia legislation. A Democratic is already governor so the Democrats have complete control of VA for the first time in generations. There is a lot the Left wants to do so many bills are being filed in preparation of the Democratic controlled legislative session. The link has the bills that have been filed.

Allow drawing of districts in between censuses

Allow exemption of affordable housing from property taxes.

Increase in minimum wage to $10 per hour.

Allow localities to tax plastic and paper bags.

No discrimination allowed for hair style.

Passage of ERA

VA constitutional amendment to guarantee "personal reproductive autonomy".

SB 7 increase minimum wage to $10 per hour. That’ll help small business! Not as bad as expected but it won’t be long for $15.

Your statement is beyond rude. It is like saying, “Hey your French aholes let the Germans conquer your nation so now eat it.

Conservatives did everything they could to keep the Commonwealth of Virginia. They were CONQUERED by an invasion from outside. There is a reason Alabama and Mississippi are still very conservative — they don’t border the nations capital where vast numbers of liberal employees live in their state and commute to the capital.

Conservative Virginians did NOTHING to deserve this.

You would think a Chicago conservative would understand. SHEESH.

I have been planning to retire to Virginia for the past 20 years. I could have added my conservative vote. So much for that plan.

Just another reason to hate commie liberals, Democrats, and their media propaganda wing.

Isn’t their State Senate majority a razor-thin 21-19? Are there seriously no red district Democrats who’ll stand up to their more radical proposals?

Here are some of the gun crappola they will probably pass after a quick perusal. Get what you need before the session starts in January.

HB2-expanded background checks between private individuals.
HB9-required reporting of lost or stolen firearms, immunity for any crime then committed with the firearm.
SB12-more expanded background check stuff
SB14-trigger activators, bump stock state ban
SB16-bans ‘assualt weapons’, magazine with +10 rnd cap
SB18-age 21 to buy guns, other crap
SB22-only can buy 1 handgun every 30 days.

There are a few more I think. This is why the sociopath magnet that is the federal capital should be rotated every year to different regions, so they can’t bring down all the states that are unlucky enough to be close to the bureaucratic freedom hating dog squeeze for too long. Let them be gypsies and then move on.

That isn't a wish list. It's a pre-filed manifesto. They want to flip the state (excuse me, Commonwealth) into a California-Lite in a single legislative session. Imagine the damage they'll do if they even have two years in power, if not four. What a godawful disaster for the other 3/4 of the state that's still red. Tyranny and mob rule. My buddy put his house up for sale in Manassas and has a buyer for it - he's moving to WV. He said all of NoVA has been overrun, and it wasn't too classy in spots when I lived there in the 90's. He said he's tired of being treated like a second class citizen in a town he's lived in for 30 years, and now they want to codify it into law with weasel words and inverse logic.

Yup. Anyone from Virginia should follow and read the link in the article. It’s pretty grim reading.. Doesn’t look like it will turn around anytime soon either. The only hope is appealing to the most basic compulsion of the sociopathic politicians: re-election of dems in moderate districts.

NOT leaving. NOT giving in.
Staying and fighting. NOVA might be overrun with leftists, but the mountains are still free. This is my home too, not just theirs.
Consider this for a moment:
VA turns leftist-move to another state.
THAT state turns leftist-move to another state....
and so on, and so on.
Pretty soon, you run out of states to move to, the left has won, and we become a sh-hole country, just like the others.
NOT. LEAVING.

Not I. I suspect most of it were illegals bus in over the years or redistribution of others. Look at the map and most of the outlying areas are conservative. Only the large populas areas are liberals. Same in California, Washington, Oregon, etc. I wouldn’t laugh. Don’t think it won’t happen to the rest of the country. It’s in their plan.

I didn’t vote for it, very sad that it has happened a direct result of immigration and like what has happened to major cities like chicago turning them into hellholes.

how long have you been eating it?

anybody being forced to eat the crap of socialism shouldn’t be rejoicing when it spreads. thats stupid!

I am hoping to last until I can move to FL or SC. :)

I interviewed at a large insurance company in Chattanooga, TN two weeks ago today. Decided it wasn't the right opportunity for me. They're 15+ years (minimum) behind current trends and I decided at this stage of my life (I turn 57 on Thanksgiving...) that taking on such a monumental I.T. turn-around just isn't in the cards for me. Pity, I really like Chattanooga specifically and Tennessee overall.

My search for meaningful employment outside this sh*thole called Illinois continues. Even if I don't find something, I'm retiring at 60 anyway and then leaving so my time here is limited either way.

If they push their manifesto through over the course of an entire administration - even if it’s only one term (and you can be sure it won’t be) - it could take at least a decade to undo the damage. Then, how do you attract VA expats back to the state? New residents who aren’t glassy-eyed locusts? I’ve always been a Tenth Amendment kinda guy, but this may call for some top-down enforcement of federal laws before the citizens have a shot at throttling back on the Leftist dystopia they’re beseiged with.

Nothing is going to happen to change this dynamic unless something happens to reverse the direction of the federal government, at least in my opinion. It will never happen, but rotating the capital and making fed employees and contractors and all the private support structure move very few years or whatever would be the only thing I see working. Or maybe fed employees/contractors sacrifice their voting rights or something. Again, it will never happen.
