The First Rule of Holes: When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham is neck-deep in a big ol Deep State hole, and he apparently doesnt have any idea how to get out of it.
Faced with rising anger among the supporters of President Donald Trump who won his state by 14% of the vote in 2016 over his refusal to follow up all year on promises to issue a raft of subpoenas and hold hearings to dig at the truth behind Spygate and the neverending coup attempts targeting the President, Graham thought it would be a peachy dodge to hold a press conference today at which he introduced his meaningless resolution condemning the House impeachment circus led by San Fran Nan and Bug-Eyes Schiff:
Elma Aksalic @ElmaAksalic #WATCH: Sen. Lindsey Graham says he spoke with acting @WhiteHouse chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, adding the Trump administration is "working on getting a messaging team together" on impeachment like Bill Clinton did.👇🏼

Far from placating any Trump supporters, Grahams meaningless stunt only made them angrier, judging from the reactions on Twitter and other social media platforms. I would copy some of the responses over here, but theyre pretty much all obscene at this point. People are really angry, for very good reason.
Grahams stunt also had the perverse effect of enraging the left-wing social media Outrage Mob, which had been quite happy with the Senators talk-a-big-game-but-do-nothing-real posturing since he assumed the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee in January. So now, literally everyone is angry at Lindsey Graham, except for the Deep State minions his studious inaction serves to protect.
You get the feeling from watching Grahams presser today that he is just scared to death. His voice was shaky, his answers soft and uncertain, his forehead sweaty he just looks and acts like a guy who in his heart wants to do the right thing, but just cant, for whatever reason.
The most generous line of speculation about Grahams refusal to act in any meaningful way is that, whether he knew it in January and February when he was making bold promises to hold an aggressive hearing schedule, he understands now that all roads related to Spygate ultimately to his personal hero, the execrable John McCain. Anyone who spends five minutes looking at the publicly-available information related to the coup cabals spying efforts on the Trump Campaign and Transition team, and the creation of the Steele Dossier very quickly realizes that McCain and his office were intimately involved in all of it.
Thus, if Graham were to actually follow through on his promises to conduct a thorough investigation, he would inevitably end up revealing even more information that would negatively impact McCains already soiled reputation. McCain is a man who Graham literally idolizes, a role model who Graham eagerly followed around and emulated for two solid decades. Its easy to understand why he would break dozens of promises in order to protect his lifes hero.
That, as I say, is the generous speculation about Grahams refusal to act. Other lines involve him being compromised, threatened or just plain corrupt at his core. Who knows what the truth really is? We may never find out, just as we will probably never find out what really motivated the useless Jeff Sessions.
What we do know, though, is that the stunt Graham pulled today only served to anger people of all political persuasions more than they already were. The Senator needs to quit flailing around like this, quit doing thrice-weekly appearances with Sean Tick-Tock Hannity, stop talking in public altogether for a few weeks for his own good. Just go back to focusing on approving the Presidents judicial nominees at a record pace, and leave it at that.
Stop digging, Senator.
That is all.
This is like junk mail....and you know where that goes...
Duh! That’s why none of them objected to the Indonesian, they were already guilty of treason.
Linda is slippery and SC is the land of The Swamp Fox, Francis Marion.
Linda will survive IF he sticks with Trump
Or he could resign and leave public life...
Excellent.
Or the timing is not right.
If this is true, McConnell should assign the job to somebody else.
It is a fact that Linda has broken her promises.
Those here who defend her, enable her to continue to
break promises.
Lindsey has a yellow streak down his back and his resolution blamed it on a liver disorder. He should be holding senate committee hearings and bringing in every witness that Schiff calls. The house republicans seem to accept their claim that they are helpless when in reality they aren’t. They could crash Schiff’s party every day until he gives up but they won’t.
Lindsey is on the senate side and a chairman so he has as much or more power as Schfity Schiff. Why doesn’t he use it.
Lindsey Graham also has 48 Trump Judicial nominees pending in his Judiciary Committee. He should move on those and also should ELIMINATE THE BLUE SLIP PROCESS that the RATS use to block good District Court nominees.
I am still waiting for Graham to get to the bottom of the Kavanaugh hearing debacle. Remember “Ballsey Ford and her BS testimony.
IIRC, he has ignored the blue slip process.
Lets face it the GOP is hopeless...
Graham is still honoring blue slips on district judges. Many good judges are being obstructed by the Dems and he is just fine with that.
Linda was talking this same kind of Krap during the clinton years. Never issued any subpoenas back then either.
He can worship that turd McStain all he wants. Eventually the truth will revealed as a traitor, and unless he cuts his ties to him and starts digging up crap on McStain, he will be tied to his activity and associated with the coup. Either way, he’s screwed, but since he sucks, I hope he looses to a primary challenger!
I agree. The Senator acted nervous, sweat stained, with a quiver to his voice. Body language was also a bit queer in manner. His body movement did not match the cadence usually associated with his delivery.
I thought it weird, probable origins in his effort to hide some action or belief that in his view was not matching the present understanding. Almost a stage fright that he was working hard to contain.
