Football is brutal.
How does Brady do it?
Young Andrew Luck retired, at 29.
That’s pretty much it. All one has to do is watch the way he plays. He isn’t hanging onto the ball all that much, while Luck was more like a fullback that could throw. And like anything else, what you can get away with in high school gets even harder in college.
And, as so many QBs have learned, making the move to the NFL, what you could get away with in college, you’re definitely not getting away with in the NFL. They may be able to get away with it for a season or two, but the defense finally figures them out and then it’s lights out for the remainder.
True story....
Ben’s thing is getting clobbered and shrugging it off - bouncing defenders while he stands like a giant. Brady’s thing is getting rid of the ball, and if he’s going to be hit, collapsing like Gumby.
You run 2.5 minute miles now!?!
Per game, the lowest on the page. Most of the others have far fewer games in that span.
Being 6th out of 40 aint exactly the bottom of the pile.
And the guys in the NHL are playing 81, or more games a season, the players are huge, moving over 20mph and that hard rubber puck is going fast, very fast.
Look at that again. What’s posted is total number of penalties during the decade. Most QBs are in far fewer games.

Per attempt he’s 28th of the 46.
Per game, he’s in the range of 21-24 (same rate) of the 46.
Not bottom, but nowhere near the top either.
The most he’s gotten is 5 in a season, and half the seasons, 2 or fewer.
Remember ya gotta weigh those boys before you go out to play
No one said he got more total calls. Rather, when he is hit its more likely to be called roughing the passer. Your numbers show as much. Brady is seldom hit but in the top 5 in roughing the passer calls. Thanks for posting.
I wish..probably more like ten.
If i had to i could probably do 7 but probably a decent chance of an adverse cardiac event in the process :)
Read that again.
The raw number is in the top 6, because he’s played more games - generally many more games - during that decade. Per pass attempt, it’s 28th.
With 100 million he doesnt have to play to make more. Endorsements, investments would be a full time job.
In case you haven’t noticed it, Ben Rapistberger has been brain damaged for quite some time.
Brown towered over the running backs in his era. A tremendous beating he took in nine seasons. For three seasons at his peak, Brown rushed for 4,853 yards, averaging 5.64 yards per carry and 115 yards per game.
And today at 83 he's still active. Married to Monique, a beauty in her forties, they have two children.

I think they were talking about the air pressure in the footballs, not the weight.
Gotcha
I think they were talking about the air pressure in the footballs, not the weight.
It’s even funnier, in a sad way, when you realize that very few games are played with balls within Wilson’s specifications.
In the 60s my Dad had a Laborer Foreman that didn’t retire until he was past 70 and I worked with him. Every day when done he would return to his farm and work to 9:00 at night and then go to bed.
I was fifteen feet away when a pallet of brick fell off a scaffolding and cascaded down on him. Took him to one knee, but he shook it off and cussed those who weren’t already gathering the brick back up to re-lift.
Use a 16 lb sledge all day or run a 150 lb breaker in a visqueen cage, and you will know what tough is.
Did not work for me. I had V-tomy in 1994, and my balls have
not changed in size. The production just goes into epidydemis sac, sperms die and are absorbed by the body.
