As many of you already know, CNN’s Chris Cuomo erupted at a man who apparently called him “Fredo,” in a video that went viral Monday night. The encounter between Cuomo and the man happened at a Shelter Island bar on Sunday.
“Punk-ass bitches from the right call me Fredo,” Cuomo told the man. “My name is Chris Cuomo. I’m an anchor on CNN. Fredo is from The Godfather. They use it as an Italian aspersion. Any of you Italian?” he continued. “It’s an insult to your f****** people. It’s like the N-word for us.”
They went back and forth, and at one point Cuomo said, “I’ll f****** ruin your shit. I’ll f****** throw you down these stairs like a f******* punk.”
WMAL Radio's Chris Plante first coined the term "Fredo Cuomo" for Chris Cuomo -- not because of his Italian heritage, but because of the fact that he's the stupid one of the family. Later on, Rush Limbaugh borrowed the term and then it went national.

As a matter of fact, yes I am. About the same amount as you, with both sides of my family tree from Italy.
So if my ancestry qualifies me for calling out the obvious: You are Fredo, the dumber and weaker brother. Embrace it Fredo, because much like the movie you’re not Micheal (Andrew) or Vito (Mario).
Looks like Cuomo has had it up to here - I’m holding my hand laterally across my forehead.
Plante is fantastic....hard to hear here in the west, but worth it. Rush has called Cuomo Fredo for many years, too.
Being 100% Italian, I was unaware that I’m supposed to be insulted by this “slur.”
Fredo Cumomo has pretty much guaranteed this will be his nickname going forward with that outburst.
I'm 50% Sicilian and am around 100% Sicilians all the time. Fredo is not an ethnic slur, it describes a younger sibling who is dumb as a rock and doesn't notice. Fredo is given all the chances in life, like Cuomo, and yet fails, like Cuomo. Fredo is PERFECT moniker for Cuomo, perfect.
Rush L is taking credit for the Cumo nickname.

On a side note, Cuomo repeated the word “Fredo” which he also said is like using the N-word. So, by his own logic, he uses racist words and, therefore, is...

This label has been disempowered of its significance to the point of cliche by its overuse and misuse by the left.
First of all, Italian heritage is not racial; it’s a nationality.

I think in this case Fredo is the dumbER brother as neither one of them come across too bright.
Remember ‘Fredo’ Cuomo was ranting that PDJT calling it ‘Fake News’ was an insult to journalists and likened it to the ‘N’ word.
Also, a tape was also played where a few years ago a ‘Fredo’ Cuomo guest was describing Don Jr and if you really read into it (she also called Don Jr ‘Fredo’) she was actually describing Cuomo...

This is what I wrote on The Real Housewives of WMAL this morning:
Rush Limbaugh DID NOT coin the “Fredo Cuomo” name. It was Chris Plante. He was the first one to do so. Rush is taking credit for it, but many years ago Rush alluded that he ‘preps’ by listening to morning talk radio, especially WMAL and Plante in the mornings. He would sometimes ‘parrot’ something that Plante said that morning on his Noon show. Sometimes he would parrot entire sentences that had been uttered by Plante. Some of us were also aware that Rush used to prep by reading Free Republic posts. We noticed that he would repeat verbatim some things that Freepers had posted, but would not credit them. Rush, Levin and Michael Graham used to be very active on FR (Levin still is - I run the WMAL Ping List there). Many Freepers have said in the past that some of the stuff they posted there had been picked up by Rush and stated on his radio show. Plante also has firsthand knowledge of “The Godfather” films, scene-by-scene. Rush does not. Rush may have an underling who is doing all his work for him and providing these terms and he may not be aware that Plante said it first. I kinda doubt this given the fact that Rush himself ‘preps’ with morning radio subjects. Just my two cents’ worth.
Chris Cuomo goes evil on somebody’s ass; thinks “Fredo” is an insult to Italians.

I caught him up in Massachusetts in 2016. Before that instance, I did NOT know he was syndicated.

Rush has been claiming that he started the nickname.
Chris Plante is a local radio guy with a small local audience, Rush gets 25 + million a week.
Maybe Plante said it first, I don't know, but I do know that Rush has been calling him fredo for years.
Rush may not have started it, but he made it NATIONAL.
Rush did say that the first he used the term was in 2016. He left it “in the air” as to whether others may have used it before him.
