Try it. I find it VERRRRRY relaxing to listen to Max Steiner movie theme music.
Can’t ask Alexa because I don’t pay for spying devices for my home.
Thanks. Listening right now. Always looking for relaxing Alexa playlists. Right now our favorite is George Winston, mostly because our dog is high strung and instrumental piano music calms him down the most.
I thought Steiner was that guy who can’t get it done in all the Downfall videos.
Movie music is the only decent music being produced today. Just about everything else is unlistenable.
My wife used to play the theme to “Gone With The Wind”, on the piano because I liked it.
Lots of great movie themes. One of the best was Laura’s Theme in Zhivago. Godfather was also great.
My Nephew said if he ever became dictator of a country, their national anthem would be “Star Wars”.
Not to be “That Guy”, but you have voluntarily placed a surveillance device in your home that is operating 24/7.
These devices are much, much more sensitive than you would believe. They pickup everything.
Just saying...
Movie music is what got me into classical music. I had tons of soundtrack LPs, and grew to love symphonic scores. Steiner was one of the best, able to do westerns, swashbucklers, and dramas.
If you like Max, Bernard Herrmann is another. A terrific old school sound track composer.
George Winston: December
My favorite music for a Christmas party.
I have a cousin named Alexa. She lives 500 miles away. I doubt she would hear me if I asked her to play anything.
Thomas Newman , no one comnpares.
Bernard Herrmann did a few Ray Harryhausen movies,7th Voyage of Sinbad and Jason and The Argonauts. His last movie was Taxi Driver.
The Vienna Philharmonic played a Steiner movie theme medley on a PBS special Friday night. He had an amazing background of tutors, mentors and teachers.
Alexa, can you tell me how many Chinese kids were forced into working nights to build this unit? Just read this on The Register
Did he/she stop smoking cigarettes lately?
My cat has been a mess since.
Seriously, I know cats are jumpy but this guy’s on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
He’s got the life of Riley, not sure what he is so stressed about.
Bernard was An Academy Award-winner (for The Devil and Daniel Webster, 1941; later renamed All That Money Can Buy). Also did Psycho, North by Northwest, The Man Who Knew Too Much, and Vertigo.Citizen Kane, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Cape Fear, Fahrenheit 451, and Taxi Driver. The Twilight Zone and Have Gun Will Travel.
Probably many other works.
Which sounds suspiciously like the score from "Kings Row."
Re: Movie Soundtracks;
One of several I’ve always liked, is the song list from
My Fair Lady;
It includes 1. Wouldn’t It Be Lovely
2. With a Little Bit of Luck
3. The Rain in Spain
4. I Could Have Danced All Night
5. On The Street Where You Live
6. Get Me To The Church On Time!
7. I’ve Grown Accustomed to Your Face.
Very humm-able, melodic tunes, for when I’m not in a cerebral, Philip Glass or Cure or Issac Hayes kinda mood.
