In bootcamp at the NRTC SDiego, we fired M1’s at the rifle range. The M1 uses a clip, not a magazine. A better motto might be “Don’t Give Up The Ship”.

Yes. It is multiple things. I doubt when loading a pistol or M-4 they say clip.
