They’re Out There

Oh, they’re out there all right. Raj and I saw one with our own eyes at dusk one summer day over 40 years ago. And no, there were no chemicals involved.

Our sovereignty is being violated by vehicles of unknown origin.” – Christopher Mellon, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence during the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations

The U.S. military has seen them.

The strange objects, one of them like a spinning top moving against the wind, appeared almost daily from the summer of 2014 to March 2015, high in the skies over the East Coast. Navy pilots reported to their superiors that the objects had no visible engine or infrared exhaust plumes, but that they could reach 30,000 feet and hypersonic speeds (5000 mph!). – NYT

Daily invasions from the summer of 2014 to March of 2015? Why is anybody surprised? That was at the height of the Obama open door, open border years. Aliens from every corner of the earth arrived on our southern border; what made us think it would stop with that? Apparently America is not just the best place on earth to live and word spreads fast. It doesn’t really matter where these invaders are coming from, since we know nothing about them they pose a threat that we seem committed to ignore.

(The) growing number of such sightings in sensitive military contexts—reported by highly trained, highly credible witnesses and corroborated by some of the world’s most sophisticated technology, including several infrared videos shot from fighter jets…To him, they signal a potential high-level strategic threat of unknown origin—one the nation would be foolish to ignore. - History Channel

These UFOs perform maneuvers that are, shall we say, challenging to mere human pilots:

What was strange, the pilots said, was that the video showed objects accelerating to hypersonic speed, making sudden stops and instantaneous turns — something beyond the physical limits of a human crew.

“Speed doesn’t kill you,” Lieutenant Graves said. “Stopping does. Or acceleration.” – NYT

But I don’t want you to jump to conclusions, this is not evidence of visitors from a galaxy far, far away. As Christopher Mellon explains:

A UFO is not necessarily an alien from another planet. It is simply a flying object that cannot be explained away through conventional means.

That’s the first thing I’ve read about UFOs that makes sense.  Keep in mind that most flying objects can still be explained through conventional means.

Side note: As a rule I’d never recommend anything from the NYT, but the UFO article is quite eye-opening. Also note that a six-part History Channel series, 'Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation' premieres Friday 5/31 at 10/9c. You might want to set your DVR.

But they knew this in terms of scale, if not a picture montage. These guys didn’t deny the issue, they just rationally asked “well, where are they?”. You state the scale IS the reason why we can’t prove ET life- so it becomes a tautology- proving itself by being unproveable? I think my math instructors would chastise that point of view. My logic profs would indeed!

Regarding religion being left out, - sorry but evolution is the religion that makes all of this so utterly unproveable-a foundational (error) that just has to be carried through or else the whole house falls....

Just what if all of this creation indeed is not billion or trillions, but only tens of thousands of years old- that order of merit would change the whole metric of the equation- none of the other variables Drake and Fermi etc described would even be reasonable, so the thought, no, the demand, that life exists elsewhere could be moot.

It’s narrower than that. I said the scale and distance, and the later realization of how many galaxies there are out there, mean ruling out the possibility of extra terrestrial intelligence is foolish. I’m not saying there is ET, because I can’t know. But to say there is none, is foolish. But I think life out there is the way to bet.

I’m not a pilot, Navy or otherwise, but I’ve seen a similar object up close and personal on the highway between Tonopah and Battle Mountain, Nevada on a summer night in 1978.

I was driving with my parents and older brother about midnight when out of nowhere this bright orb of light appeared about 1/2 mile behind my car. I thought where did that come from and the next thing it zoomed right up on my tail to within a few car lengths. But the light it was giving off was not like a set of hi-beams and their was no wavering to it and no mass of something attached to it. I woke up my family and we all witnessed it. Then it shot straight up, flew over the car and then straight back down a few car lengths in front of us. It stayed there for about 15 seconds or so then went 90 degrees straight to my left and hovered over the desert. Then it shot straight up into to night sky and dissapeared.

Every maneuver was at 90 degrees. It was amazing. As a professional engineer and other than we were close the Nevada test range, I couldn’t tell you what it was or how it was powered. Just this bright, unwavering, massless orb of light.

There are many possible explanations for “sightings”. Sure, some sound rather trite- swamp gas reflecting off the moon etc. But most phenomena are scientifically explainable.

The big question is, for you and yours at least, is this “evidence” of ET life? If so, that is rather concerning.

I too, have seen something unexplainable, and yet unexplained but that experience does not determine what my rationale, psyche and will do.

Finite mind, meet complex world; relax!

But there you go again! “Im not saying it Aliens, but it’s Aliens” Determining a proof on the basis no proof. “But it must be so” is hope, faith or wishful thinking, not science nor mathematics. And it is based on the premise that all of this has some 10 to the XYX age, the foundation to all of evolutionary thinking. And since that exact number is unknowable, and therefore could be much less (on the order of many many fewer zeros) then the whole of it falls apart as there would be no “time” for any or all of this to happen. There it is, “the god that evolutionary science serves is dead”. Time.

I have looked at the issue for about 40 of my 57 years now, and I have decided that the answer (regarding ET life) isn’t even important. What is important is the relationship between me and the Creator. In my Biblical World(s) View, I am created by a loving God Almighty to be a blessing to my family and those I encounter to share the Good news of Salvation via God’s Anointed (Jesus the Sent One of God), and the minor question of “is there more out there” is irrelevant. I have a hope and future and an eternity after this temporal stay to see it all revealed. For those who determine that Time itself is their god, and there is nothing else, then they then have to deal with the hopelessness of that construct, even if it could be true.

“Choose you this day whom you will serve, the false gods of the secular scientific community or the Lord God (Creator of the Universe); As for me (and my house, if they will) I (we) will serve the Lord”. Joshua. (Paraphrased for the subject matter).

I leave you with the aphorism “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.”

Indeed, glad that is not allowed in courts of law, elsewise anyone charged but evidenced not in record still means guilty, as eventually some damning evidence will appear....
Well, maybe that is the standard given Mueller v collusion.
