This place is getting more like facebook and twitter, stealthly deleting posts for not stated reasons.
Sometimes whole topics.
You don't know they're gone until you browse your comments and find they don't exist anymore.
Way to go censors. 20+ year guy here and i will say this is a new level of low.
Read it while you can, i am sure whoever's deleting comments tonight will not want to have this out there.

Happens quite a bit. Usually threads get zapped because of profanity, personal attacks, or copyright infringement. I usually know when a thread I’ve posted on is going to be deleted when I see posters attacking each other. And, usually, I agree with the Mod’s decision.
I gave up trying to figure out why certain threads and replies get pulled and others don’t for a long time now.
Perhaps one may care to give an example.
I have posted a moderate 1200 threads and do not believe even one has been pulled. And, no, I am not always salt free vanilla.
Its just gonna get pulled.
I have not noticed issues of my posts or replies being deleted. I rarely post articles but I reply alot. I do notice duplicate posts being closed. Do you have some examples of what has happened to you?

A recent thread that went on for days and days.
A little tense at times, but it got to over 1000 posts.
But whatever finally happened, rather than zap some posts,
zot some offenders, and lock the thread... Poof.
A lot of people who put in a lot of effort into their communications there, lost it all.
I believe Humblegunner lost posts there too.
A thread was pulled the other day calling the belief in tenets of Catholicism on this board “disgusting”.
Being a Catholic, for some reason I found that offensive.

Disagree with a Christian faith? Sure.
But call the beliefs “disgusting” and your thread is gonna get pulled.
Some sites have class. Like Free Republic.
Perhaps secret agent man needs to find a more crass, abusive board that more fits what he feels he needs to say.

It happens. I had an image deleted because a mod thought it might get unwanted secret service attention. I pointed out the same image from another thread , years old, was still there.
I am aware of several examples.
In any case, the 1000+ post example I’m referring to
caused a lot of people who are putting serious amounts
of work into high grade human social communications,
for a serious purpose...
To start learning how to archive their stuff offline.
Including entire threads.
