I saw the thread.
1st rule of Hombre Secreto is to stay below the radar.
I have had a couple deleted for various reasons, noticed others occasionally, but nothing to lose sleep over. Deleted Cruz threads in 2018 were frustrating but oh well, I get to share my “I told you so” sometimes.
There is a report abuse option for users.
I don’t know for certain but a lot of what gets pulled probably starts from there.
I think I used it 5 times.
Easter Sunday I was called a pedophile lover.
My theory is it is better a lunatic come gunning for me rather than some nice person who might be adversely affected.
It is what it is. Don’t worry about what you don’t control... or leave...
You want details? Post a news story about a pit bull attack. The mods will pull the thread within a couple of hours. We dont talk about pit bulls around here. Free republic is going drudge.

This is a private site and the mods have the right to limit posts. A plus to free repulic is there isnt a lot of “ if proven true, the president could be impeached” bs. and there isn’t any advertizing. Its all private funding. I hate pop-ups. Until someone else invests $$$$ into servers and maintenance etc.
I use the report abuse button when things get profane and/or downright vulgar in a way that does not move the narrative forward. I like to forward threads to my pastor and to my kids, but the existence of some nonsense posts makes that not a player.
For instance, whenever a thread comes up which mentions a particular Presidential candidate who is homosexual and a mayor, someone always feels the need to post a single line with the name of an implement which is inserted into one’s posterior.
I swear that if that candidate gets the nomination, either the moderators will need to hold the junk posts down to a dull roar, or I will sit out the election without reading FR.
Such posts cheapen the forum. They make the rest of us look like a bunch of junior high schoolers. Heck, the people I hung around in junior high wouldn’t have used such crude language.

I’ve had a lot of posts pulled, usually within minutes of using the report abuse function. I report myself because I accidentally posted a duplicate, or I hit “post” before properly proofreading.
I’ve had one post pulled that I did not self-report because I pointed out an anatomical impossibility in an article on the religious forum and someone took it for an attack on religion. Interestingly, I have pointed out such mistakes on religious websites, and they fixed the errors.
I report posts for profanity or racism (in the original definition, and not its new meaning of “anything conservative”). On rare occasions, I have reported threads for the same.
