Go figure: If you’re a birther or a 9/11 denier, chances are you aren’t much fun to be around. Sure, we’ve been saying this about our wack-job uncle for years — but now it’s backed up by science.
With contemporary conspiracy theories targeting everything from myths surrounding the Mueller report to the chilling “secret” behind Disney’s “Frozen,” this cultural phenomenon is certainly ripe for clinical exploration.
As such, the new study measured participants’ “belief in general notions of conspiracy” as well as how much they agreed with specific theories (“There was an official campaign by MI6 to assassinate Princess Diana”). Those inclined to believe the theories were “more accepting of everyday crime,” such as demanding a refund for no appropriate reason.
In addition, exposure to conspiracy theories was found to make people more apt to engage in low-level criminal activity. Researchers found that this tendency was “directly linked to an individual’s feeling of a lack of social cohesion or shared values, known as anomie.”

Demanding a refund is not a crime.
They became boring then tedious and finally scary over time. They were just nuts after awhile if you couldn't be converted.

I don’t really agree with the “findings” about conspiracy theorist having criminal tendencies, but they do tend to be annoying as hell. Worst of the bunch are the 9/11 “truthers.” They get downright angry when you don’t agree with their nonsense.

The Left has no shared values with American society (God, country, family, liberty, property rights...) and has sought social(ist) upheaval and revolution for over half a century.
This would apply to Democrats regarding their Russian collusion conspiracy theory and their acceptance of criminal behavior regarding illegal aliens.
On the other hand, if you're a DemocRat or a member of the Leftist Media, you're already a criminal, so, no worries.
As I’m still waiting for the full truth about the FBI’s involvement in the 1993 WTC attack, I don’t blame the 9/11 truthers one bit.
If the bomber had placed the bomb where the FBI told him to, it would have been worse than 9/11 (no time to evacuate, so 100k dead).
I believe I have a right to know the full story as I would have been one of the dead. Here I am, now 26 years later and I’m still not clear on how this event came to pass.
So yeah, a whole lot of skepticism of official explanations is not out of order in the slightest.

I DO blame the 9/11 truthers. They claim the whole attack was an “inside job,” yet videos of hijacked aircraft impacting the WTC were clear as the day it happened.
But hey.. conspiracies are fun.. everyone gets to play “detective.”
I don’t recall seeing any aircraft hitting Building 7.
