Believing conspiracy theories might make you a criminal: study
New York Post ^

Go figure: If you’re a birther or a 9/11 denier, chances are you aren’t much fun to be around. Sure, we’ve been saying this about our wack-job uncle for years — but now it’s backed up by science.

With contemporary conspiracy theories targeting everything from myths surrounding the Mueller report to the chilling “secret” behind Disney’s “Frozen,” this cultural phenomenon is certainly ripe for clinical exploration.

As such, the new study measured participants’ “belief in general notions of conspiracy” as well as how much they agreed with specific theories (“There was an official campaign by MI6 to assassinate Princess Diana”). Those inclined to believe the theories were “more accepting of everyday crime,” such as demanding a refund for no appropriate reason.

In addition, exposure to conspiracy theories was found to make people more apt to engage in low-level criminal activity. Researchers found that this tendency was “directly linked to an individual’s feeling of a lack of social cohesion or shared values, known as anomie.”

I’ll admit that I’ve not read the article after reading the general description which had N indications of faulty math, silly reasoning, and general indications of folks who really should have studied acting and left thought to their superiors.

Typical social “science” bull Obama.

I plan to do a study that will prove the conclusions are determined before the study started.

I’m shocked:

When your whole entertainment and broadcasting industries are taken over by a tribe deeply resentful of America and harboring an alien value set, this makes people feel ALIENATED from one another..!

Who would have thought that a decades-long Gramscian War on Christianity and program of cultural deracination would make average people distrustful of mass media and central authority..!

Personally, I like to listen to a well-thought-out conspiracy theory. I’m quite skeptical and seldom believe them but I am willing to listen and act as a devil’s advocate.

The worst was a 9-11 truther. He grabbed everybody's ear at work to espouse his theory. Of course he claimed to be a military demolitions genius and knew several people who knew several people that knew a CIA agent...you get the picture.

Turns out his "demolition expert" status was bogus as was his military service. Three weeks in boot camp then a discharge for the good of the service apparently made him an expert.

He eventually got fired from our company because he spent all his time talking conspiracy and none of it doing his job.

If this “theory” were true, Infowars would have instigated thousands, if not millions, of criminals worldwide. I doubt there is even a dozen of real criminals in that bunch. (Note how I used the term “real”... thoughtcrime crimes in Britain don’t count!)

This sounds like part of the greater movement to ban content or deplatform people that are guilty of wrong-think.

"...well known to create and promote criminal activity, including the skyrocketing hate-crimes against [add flavor of the day], authorities are encouraging providers to implement their own controls..."

I am not a big time conspiracy believer but I do like reading them. They’re fun to read and some of them are quite believable once you take the bait or first leap of faith, which is generally heresay or a out and out lie that catches the lazy people.

Makes me wonder though what what there going to do about all those ‘conspiracy to’ laws and current convictions, May include Rico since Rico is a type of conspiracy,

Let’s face it: Everyone loves a good conspiracy theory. And some conspiracies ARE REAL, like the conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln, his VP, and the Secretary of State. Or, the conspiracy to assassinate Julius Caesar. Most Americans are ALSO not aware that no living person has admitted to seeing a Birth Certificate for Hussein Obama that would be acceptable for submission with an IRS I-9 form to qualify Barack for ANY employment in the United states....!

I don’t recall seeing any aircraft hitting Building 7.

Building 7 was a structural failure that led to collapse. Debris from WTC North impacted the building and ignited fires within that their fire suppression system could not extinguish.

So those who believe in upholding the Constitution are criminals.......

The founders specified natural born citizen as the strictest form of citizen to exclude the children of foreigners, those who are not naturally Americans because they are also born with other nationalities.

Below is the relevant change to Hamilton’s proposed language detailed in Jay’s letter written to George Washington dated 25 July 1787:

“Permit me to hint, whether it would be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government; and to declare expressly that the Command in Chief of the American army shall not be given to nor devolve on, any but a natural born Citizen.”

And Juicy Jussie Racebaiter DID engage in a criminal conspiracy. The only question that remains is did he coordinate his attack with Democrat legislators?

:: now it’s backed up by science. ::

Any “clinical exploration” of the human psyche is not science. Look how this dingbat conflates “exploration” with science.

Well, it must be because it is clinical results!
