McCarrick Laicization a Political Bone Throw?
Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, the former Apostolic Nuncio to the United states, has publicly expressed his misgivings about the upcoming Vatican summit on clerical sexual-abuse this February 21-25.
In a brief essay issued in response to an invitation to participate in a National Catholic Register symposium on the upcoming summit, he says, I am praying intensely for the success of the February summit but laments that there is no sign of a genuine willingness to attend to the real causes of the present situation.
Viganò presents three critical questions, wherein he manifests his doubt over the likelihood of success at the summit.
That’s pretty obvious. The coverup and pay offs have gone on for years and everyone who participated is as guilty as the perp. Everyone of them should have been defrocked.
The Catholic Church has refused for over 30 years to deal with their predatory pedophile priest problem.
He's in on it.

Carlo Maria Viganò is right. The laicization of Cardinal McCarrick is only a bone thrown to try to appease the crowd. If they are serious in their endeavour to cure the problem, someone will propose tossing all queer priests completely out of the priesthood.
