Late Sunday evening, Big League Politics broke a story detailing an apparent sexual assault allegation against Democrat Virginia Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax occurring during the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
Now, that reporting has been confirmed according to a statement coming directly from Lt. Governor Fairfaxs office.
The statement, which calls the allegation false, reveals that the woman making the allegation had reached out to the Washington Post more than a year ago. But, according to the statement, the Post let the story die in darkness, choosing not to publish the story after a months long investigation.
Trending: UPDATE: Stanford Fellow Hints At Possible Justin Fairfax Sex Assault
This is the same Washington Post which spoke to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaughs accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, publicly for the first time, and later followed up by publishing a column supporting the idea of believing survivors, saying that, We believe womens stories should be heard.
The allegation that BLP first reported on, comes from a woman named Vanessa Tyson.
Tyson is a Stanford University Fellow, currently studying the politics and policies surrounding sexual violence against women and children in the United States. She also serves as a Professor at Scripps College, which she is currently on leave from, as well as being an accomplished author.
Her allegation was first made known to Big League Politics through a tipster sharing a private post from Tyson.
She claims that she was sexually assaulted at the 2004 Democratic National Convention by a staffer for former Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry. Fairfax was indeed a staffer for Kerrys campaign.
The post goes on to explain that the man she alleges assaulted her went on to win statewide office in November of 2017 as a Democrat, just as Fairfax did. And finally, she explains that due to strange, horrible luck, the alleged abuser is likely to get a VERY BIG promotion.
That strange, horrible luck seems to be the scandal, first broke by BLP, likely to destroy the career of Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northram, showing a picture of him in either a Ku Klux Klan costume, or black face in his Medical School yearbook.
If Northam resigns, Fairfax will take his position as Governor, a VERY BIG promotion.
Everything in Tysons post points toward Fairfax, and now in a statement, that is being publicly admitted.
Big League Politics will keep you updated on this developing story.
Ok, so who’s next after Lt. Gov. in VA succession?
.....just one? Deny deny deny,OK I did it just once...
At least the story identifies him as a ‘RAT. Unlike most stories about Northam.
Anyone else here seeing a pattern of people in power abusing that power? Or, perhaps a more restrictive question would be: “Has anyone seen a politician who is not abusing their power?”
...#metoo must be on vacation.
DemocRATS eating their own.
It doesn’t get any better.
I think there is cunning, and reason behind the Democrats very unususal move to sacrifice one of their own. Quite abnormal for them, but apparent, therefore has to be a reason.
I think I’m seeing a set up, a scenario being played out in all of this that ultimately targets Kavannaugh once again.
One of those think about it moments.
The problem is that Democrats take #me too, literally..
Democracy dies in darkness. Hoist, meet petard.
The Attorney General. Rat Mark Herring.
But Blasie Ford is a “hero”. Hey no one is covering the fact that in New Jersey a top staffer of the governor allegedly raped another staffer who had medical evidence of the rape and reported it immediately and the accused rapist was not fired and no Democrat prosecutor would take the case. The governor will not even acknowledge who hired the guy after they all knew he was accused of rape.
“Democracy dies in the darkness”
(it will be interesting fro the WashPost to explain why they didn’t believe this woman, but they DID believe Christine Blasey Ford’s unsubstantiated allegations ... and ran with them WITHOUT doing “months of careful investigations”...)
The attorney general is next.
Anybody have his kindergarten attendance records?
I believe her
SHE MUST BE HEARD!
AND BELIEVED!
Hillary Clinton: Every woman claiming sexual assault should be believed......
“Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northram”
they must not have an editor
obviously a millenial
“LIKE”
If Northam steps down, Fairfax is in. A few days ago, that would have been a welcome solution. However, if these allegations are true, and they manage to stick, Virginia Democrats would be saddled with an equally damaged figure. If Fairfax was forced to step down, hed be replaced by a Republican something Dems are obviously going to fight.
