Bought a Taurus 38 Special Today!

Hello, been wanting a 38 for years. Any of you ever fired one? if so how did you like it? Taurus brand, what say you about that brand?

My brother had a new Taurus 605 that jammed if you will on first 50 rounds. The internals locked up and had to be returned to Taurus for repair which they did. He still has the piece.

Numrich used to buy all of the manufacturer’s out of spec or bad parts and resell them. I heard that from a guy who used to work for Marlin and told me Marlin sold their bad parts to Numrich. I got a .45 ACP barrel from them several years back that had an undersized chamber.

I’ve had the same Taurus .38 Special since around 1980-it was a gift from my 1st hubby and has been my favorite sidearm ever since-it is lighter, smaller and easier to carry in my purse/on my person than my .357 is-I live in a remote rural area-used it to persuade an intruder to leave the house a few years ago-he decamped with haste. It is here on the desk right now and will be under my pillow when I go to bed, like every night-I think it is a great gun for self defense...

Impressive after sales service. I’ve heard - pot metal or not - that Hi-Point is also pretty good about fixing defects.

I have Taurus 38 spl 9mm and 380 that i carry. Never had an issue

I’ve never owned a Taurus, but I once owned a Rossi 357 Magnum revolver, once. I don’t know if it’s true, but I heard that Taurus and Rossi are made by the same company. The first time I shot my Rossi, when I opened the cylinder to reload, if fell off and rolled down range.

I wouldn’t part with my SIG P220 Extreme for any other handgun... period. I do like my Springfield XDM 45... but it’s not in the same workmanship league as the SIG. Then again, I just don’t like anything other than 45s.

Hahaha!!!!!!! Fusion looks way better! Taurus was always ugly to me!! Plus Derek Jeter used to do a Fusion comercial.

I have a Taurus .357 magnum revolver.

Rock solid design, similar to Smith & Wesson.

I liked the .357 because I can shoot both .357 and .38 special...

I’m a big Ruger revolver fan myself. The GP 100 is the best wheel gun I’ve ever owned.

I just bought the GP 100 after looking quite some time for a used S&W 686 pre-lock. Love it, glad I took the plunge, and will never buy another S&W as long as they are making them with the Hillary holes.
