Caldara: On January 1, I became a criminal in my hometown of Boulder (AR-15 Ban)

It’s not the intolerance of progressives that is so insulting. It is the denial of their intolerance that is so abusive.

~~~~SNIP~~~~
Because I own a long gun with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine, I had to the end of December to self-identify to the police, present myself for investigation and my gun for inspection, pay fees in order to receive a police-issued permission slip, all to avoid jail time, monetary penalties, and the confiscation and destruction of my gun.
~~~~SNIP~~~~

For publicly stating that I will not comply, my daughter has been targeted at her Boulder school, the one with posters celebrating tolerance and diversity all over the walls. My refusal to submit has been commented on by teachers in front of their classes. She has been ganged up on by students and bullied because “her father is a murderer.” She is worried that I will be taken to jail. As a single dad to her and her handicapped brother, I have to admit I’m worried about that too.

I agree. Not the wisest move. I do believe his one man protest will be fruitless

After all the entire point of the 2nd amendment is to afford the average citizen the ability to stage meaningful and effective rebellion or defend from foreign invasion if it becomes necessary .

better to have " a gun behind every blade of grass" .....not under the scrutiny of the Deep State and local cops.

Yes. CO does have preemption laws, but the state Supreme Court has only upheld parts of it as far as firearms are concerned.

"...patriots willing to ride to his aid..."

We can stake next month’s mortgage that any raids will *also* reveal via a complicit leftwing media that:

“...the AR-15 owner(s) also possessed over 200 rounds of ammunition, suspected child porn, suspected controlled dangerous substances, and an alleged armory/arsenal with FOUR other guns confiscated...”

...and don’t forget (the headlines will read) “Assault Rifle protest mob Joined by White Supremicist group”....and “many in attendance were convicted of Domestic Violence” ....and “participants also support Trump”....LOL

Well, having seen releases from the dam move boulders downstream, those rusty old things are probably in the Saugatuck harbor.

Yes, but home rule does not give them limitless powers.

Yep, agreed. The media will include all the essential standard buzzwords in their coverage.

A home rule charter that is specifically crafted and tailored to individual municipalities acts as the city or town’s basic governing document over local issues; however, when a dispute arises, whether an issue constitutes “local concern” must be determined by courts on a case by case basis, and certain state laws will prevail in matters of statewide concern.

Hate to tell you this, but cursing them and complaining about them won’t do any good.

I am not advocating for it, but let’s face it, until cops and judges start feeling REAL pain for enforcing illegal dictates from their political masters, they’re going to keep obeying them.

What kind of “currant” was it?

There are documented problems with currants and firearms, namely the dreaded "currant jam..."

It is possible to resist a commie edict without making a spectacle and endangering the entire family, he chose to make a public splash and bemoans the effect on family members. He could just keep his rifle and mags like the majority will and the commies will be none the wiser till he has to shoot a few with the banned items.

wrong
I can put my newly supposedly illegal rifle and/or mags in the gun safe and tell my kids that we have them if needed regardless what the commies say and of course ‘pretend’ they don’t exist. I’m not a peterpuffer so the rainbow flag you allude to must be on a different porch you know of.

If this were for real he’d already have his SFPs and other novelty defensive items placed front toward enemy.

Colorado is one of 30 states that have a constitution that recognize municipal home rule. Of which Boulder qualifies and has claimed/secured that municipal home rule.
