Twenty year Freeper anniversary.

I joined up during the corrupt Clinton years. It was also the time I stopped watching TV news because I was tired of being lied to , tired of the endless sucking up to RAT leaders , tired of Hollywood idiots pontificating as if their celebrity status made their worse than worthless opinions worth listening to, and , most of all , just plain tired of being tired.
It was during this time I learned how to photo-shop with free software made for Linux: GIMP. It’s available for Windows as well but after years of putting up with the dreaded Blue Screen Of Death I wanted something Windows free and the computer you see in the graphic was actually one I got from Dell preloaded with Linux .
If you are on the Pookie18 Ping List you may have seen my works through the years but you’d likely not know I did them because I don’t sign them. That way am free to go after the left with gusto without fear of retaliation. This incivility Hillary is pushing is nothing new, it goes all the way back to the Civil War, or as I insist it be correctly called, The Republican-Democrat War. It's not really red state verses blue, It's Grey verses Blue and the Democrat Party started with Pro Slavery President Andrew Jackson . (A truly gray figure from history if there ever was one!)
I was wondering if anybody would catch that. One of the reasons I like this site are folks such as yourself who catch subtle errors like that.

I remember the exact moment when the Great One...Rush, first mentioned ‘Free Republic’ on the air. So I signed up under my real name as soon as I got home. I was so relieved to meet other conservatives.

Wow. All I did in these 19 years is have 3 more kids. Im a loser. ;)
October 29, 1979 was the day I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. I was just 17 years old. My recruiter picked up at around 5 in the morning to take me to the induction center in South Boston.
After many hours of physicals and mostly waiting around, we were herded into a room and we took the oath. I became officially a Marine Recruit in the DEP (Delayed Entry Program). My boot camp day was set for after my high school graduation but I was now officially in the military.
Jimmy Carter was still our president and we were less than a week away from the hostages being taken in Iran.
39 years ago today.
I got a scanner in the eighties that came with free image software. Nothing as good as Photoshop or Gimp but better than Windows paint was. I created my first web page with that software.

My 20 year anniversary is coming in January. It was the day that Republican Senators began to back down from an impeachment trial.
I was reading FR going back to February of 1998. But it was Trent Lott, backing down from an impeachment trial that finally pissed me off enough to register and login.

I enlisted in the Navy July 1, 1981. I did six years under the nuclear power program. I became a reactor operator on the USS Atlanta SSN 712. Reagan was my commander in chief the whole time.
