I joined up during the corrupt Clinton years. It was also the time I stopped watching TV news because I was tired of being lied to , tired of the endless sucking up to RAT leaders , tired of Hollywood idiots pontificating as if their celebrity status made their worse than worthless opinions worth listening to, and , most of all , just plain tired of being tired.
It was during this time I learned how to photo-shop with free software made for Linux: GIMP. Its available for Windows as well but after years of putting up with the dreaded Blue Screen Of Death I wanted something Windows free and the computer you see in the graphic was actually one I got from Dell preloaded with Linux .
If you are on the Pookie18 Ping List you may have seen my works through the years but youd likely not know I did them because I dont sign them. That way am free to go after the left with gusto without fear of retaliation. This incivility Hillary is pushing is nothing new, it goes all the way back to the Civil War, or as I insist it be correctly called, The Republican-Democrat War. It's not really red state verses blue, It's Grey verses Blue and the Democrat Party started with Pro Slavery President Andrew Jackson . (A truly gray figure from history if there ever was one!)
Congratulations! May the good Lord grant you another 20 years here. ‘98!
Congratulations from another 20+ year Freeper.... I go back to at least a year or two before registration began, so my registration date was in January 1998...
I've been wondering if I was the inspiration for that. I created this graphic shortly before Registared came out with his classic.
Registared got into trouble because he posted a Fonda/Kerry photoshop which went viral. He ended up in legal trouble and left Free Republic as a result. I will always wonder if I helped give him his Sore Loserman idea.
I cross 20 years next month. I think a LOT of people came on board at the end of 1998. I also gave up Television the year before. Not watching the 6:00 news every day changed my life. Among other things, I became an accomplished bass player. I also finally learned how to play the guitar.
Dagums. Congrats. Next year you’ll be young enough to start drinking!
I was happy to get you going with GIMP my friend! You’ve done very well with it.
Me too. But I came to my senses in September 2000.
it took a while for us to get a good desktop computer then dial up and then shazzzaaammm...a modem with high speed...
I am right on your tail.
I was able to meet Jim himself in California once. He was a very mild manner man in a whellchair. He was nothing like the lion he is online. I stayed around an hour talking with other Freepers who happened to drop by.
I forget how I found FreeRepublic. It’s almost like an organic part I’ve always seemed to have had.
My 10th is in November.
Those were some fun times. On several occasions we had real time photoshop duels that forced me to improve my skills.
Sadly, two of my favorite photoshoppers after you have either died (Eaker) or disappeared (paulycy.)
Happy FReeper birthday...tomorrow.
Congratulations. It’s been a long strange trip.
;^)

He just recycled my stuff.
He was really good at it though.
I started lurking on FR during the Hanging Chads debacle in Florida and finally joined in 10/7/01...
Richard Dawins in his book "The Selfish Gene" came up with the word meme in 1976. The first memequake I can think of started with the "Mr T ate by B*lls" meme. I made one myself for Hillary that mysteriously had a hard time getting listed.
Congrats, mine coming up in February.
I was actually a member in early 1998 but I lost my password and didn’t know I could contact and get it sent to me. I resigned up with my current name. My 20th year in this name happens the end of Nov.
Happy FRBirtthday! Ash Alert! Close yer Italians!
