Associate Justices of the Supreme Court Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor said they are concerned the courts legitimacy could be undermined if it is viewed as politically divided.
What did they say?
We dont have an army, we dont have any money, the only way we get people to do what we say that they should do is because people respect us and respect our fairness, Kagan said in an NJ.com report.
Part of the courts legitimacy depends on people not seeing the court in the way that people see the rest of the governing structures of this country now. In other words, people thinking of the court as not politically divided in the same way, as not an extension of politics, but instead somehow above the fray, she also said.
The two Princeton graduates made their comments Friday during a She Roars womens conference Friday at their alma mater. They avoided saying anything about the contentious atmosphere surrounding Brett Kavanaughs confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Ah, no. I’m not surprised you don’t accept this...the reason why people are forced to go along with your anti-constitutional BS is because the very constitution you crap on is what empowers your rulings. You are one of the 3 braches of the federal government and that government has an FBI along with other three and four lettered agency jack booted thugs. Cripes Lady, you have damn poor arguments!!
I am sooooo stealing that!
Hey - congratulations on your 20th FReeper birthday! Quite a present you got there...
Well ladies, you’re fixing to meet
and work with, what I believe to be one
of the most constitutional oriented
justices in history. What you learn
from here on in, is totally up to
you. Put YOUR politics aside.
IOW, they should retire. But btw, he dizzy beeotches are really saying that there's already partisanship on the Court.
Thanks! I totally forgot about that. Guess it has been 20 years, wow.
What a long strange trip it’s been!
all three of those witches should be expelled like the gas bags they are...
These two women are part and parcel of the very delegitimization of the courts that they say they are so afraid of.
The left has no recourse in the legislative branch.
They have used the court to rule on law.
They lost it.
They are all communists. Tell Ms. Milano that her funds will be confiscated for the cause. Burger King is hiring thanks to the momentum for the economy.
Oh no! Why would anyone get that impression???
Like I care what these two clowns have to say about anything....
Don't worry, Justices Kagan and Sotomayor. The court will now be more steered to following the law and not politicized and divided as it has been for more years now than I can remember. You are now leaving the time of politicization of the Supreme Court. That was what this fight was all about.
LOL. Every court should have a couple airheads.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
and
HA!
My suggestion: both of them resign, let Trump name their successors. Then the court will be LESS DIVIDED.
Supreme Court Justices Kagan, Sotomayor concerned about court being viewed as politically divided
“it is viewed as politically divided.”
Uh... YEAH. That’s what we’re going for.
If they don’t like it, then they should quit. Didn’t ruth buzzy ginsberg say she was going to quit the other day because she didn’t feel safe with Justice Kavinaugh around?
Their partisan votes will be negated and they hate they can’t make up stuff and call it “law”...
