Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s decision to invoke section 33 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, (Charter) the “notwithstanding clause”, is a declaration of war on out of control, unelected, unaccountable, rogue liberal activist judges who have misused, misapplied and distorted the Charter to make law on the fly, for their own ideological+ partisan personal purposes. This is Ford’s first shot across the bow of these liberal judicial pirates who have high-jacked our democratically elected (by the people) legislatures. But it will not be his last during his term of office.
What? Why? How?
But Canadian judges are appointed by the Queen!
We fought two wars to get and stay out from under that Monarchy.

Too Bad Mr Ford can’t also run as the Gov of MA given the Gov appoints all judges they are not elected. They need someone who won’t appoint moonbats or they need to change the law so that they are voted in via elections...

And yet here we are in America, with our own judges legislating from the bench and hamstringing our President's efforts to keep our nation safe from the assault of illegal immigrants and our military free from the evil influence of Social Justice Warriors and the LGBTQ agenda.
Seems that our President could use a "notwithstanding" clause about now.

A little hardnosed research into UK (and Australia, Canada, New Zealand, etc.) will show what is actually written into law.
Essentially, the constitutions of the countries falling under the UK exist at the Queen’s pleasure.
The Queen is Head of State in each of her UK dominions.
The Queen is the Commander in Chief and is the only entity that can declare war on another country in each of her dominions.
The Queen has the power to remove ministers from Parliament, including the Prime Minister, which she has done in the past.
The Queen appoints all judges in all of her dominions, through her Representative Governors.
The Queen must approve and sign all parliamentary legislation before they become law.
These are some of the reasons that the Monarchy is still supported by the British government, her government. The Monarchy is subtle in exercising authority. In fact, most people, her subjects, are not aware of the power the Queen truly possesses.
As for the US, we are subjects of neither Queen nor King.
Hopefully the worm has turned with this administration and judges will be legislating as conservatives for a change!
