Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
Vegas oddsmakers have set the over/under on its survival at 13-1/2 days. – Donald Trump’s star – which has been destroyed nutjob Democrats twice since 2016, has been restored once again on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Workers reset the star on Saturday in the face of a vote by the West Hollywood City Council in early August to have the star permanently removed.
The Walk of Fame, however, is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, whose President, Leron Gubler, had this to say about the matter: “Any star, which is vandalized or destroyed, no matter which honoree it belongs to will be replaced by the Hollywood Historic Trust, a non-profit, non-partisan group. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a historic landmark which celebrates the professional contributions of the inductees. The stars, once installed, are considered part of the historic fabric of the Walk.”
Those are great sentiments, but Hollywood is filled to capacity with nutjobs and malcontents have been programmed by the Democrat Party and our fake news media to believe it is their right to do literally anything they want to anything or anyone favorable to Donald Trump. So, unless the Chamber of Commerce is going to foot the bill for round-the-clock security, it is a very safe bet that this latest Trump star will be destroyed very soon by some entitled Hillary Clinton voter wielding an axe or a spade.
For his part, Mr. Gubler, for taking this honorable action, can now expect to be bullied off of Twitter, Facebook or any other social media platform he currently inhabits by a vicious mob of howling Democrats. Because this is what they do and who they are.
No worries, CBS, Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose are available to step in. – After no fewer than six more women came out of hiding to accuse him of sexual abuse and discrimination in the work place, CBS CEO Les Moonves finally gave up the ghost and took his 8-figure severance package to exit stage left (because he’s a Democrat after all, and left is all he knows).
Moonves is charged with all manner of sex abuse, up to and including outright rape, and if he didn’t live out in Hollywood he’d be looking a tons of jail time. But hey, this is just normal behavior in the TV/film community, so we can expect charges for any crime that took place in the LA area to be dropped by the same LA District Attorney’s office that recently declined to prosecute Kevin Spacey and Steven Seagal. These people protect their own, and good ol’ Les is almost as big a muckety-muck as Harvey Weinstein.
Exactly what is it they’re “resisting” again? I’m so confused. – As Today’s Campaign Update was being compiled this morning, President Donald Trump went on one of his early morning tweet-fests. Several of the tweets make you wonder exactly what it is that the Democrat/Media “resistance” is resisting, other than is bombastic and unconventional management style. Here are some examples:

We had quarters during the Reagan and Clinton years during which the GDP growth rate exceeded 6 percent, yet the rate of unemployment during those quarters was higher than that. Even during those economic boom times, the U.S. economy did not produce jobs at the rate we are seeing today.
The second tweet is speculative – the economy was growing during the final Obama years, although at a much slower rate than today – but the point about the importance of the Trump regulation and tax cuts is undeniably true. Barack Obama was out there on Friday laughably trying to take credit for this current boom, but the biggest tragedy of his administration is that this boom could have taken place on his watch had he not had is regulators working so feverishly to prevent it from happening. But Obama was more interested in consolidating power within the federal government than in freeing up the U.S. economy, so his legacy will forever be one of sluggish economic growth thanks to his choking regulatory policies. Nothing to be done about that now, Barry.
But back to the Trump economic boom: When you combine the facts mentioned in this morning’s tweets with record-low unemployment rates for Hispanics, record-low unemployment rates for African Americans, record-high employment for women, rising wage increases, the return of hundreds of thousands of blue-collar jobs to our country at a pace no one could have possibly imagined, and on and on and on, you do have to wonder exactly what is being “resisted” here, other than style.
All of which explains why that “anonymous” New York Times op/ed focused its whining complaints about the President on matters of style, not substance. Because when you focus on substance, the first two years of Donald Trump have undeniably been the most successful first two years of any president in modern times, and it really isn’t close.
Just another day in Trump Derangement Syndrome America.
