The Big Question: If Mueller Makes Big Moves After Labor Day, Will Sessions Respond in Kind?
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This is NBC, pushing that false narrative 24 hours every day. – NBC’s fake news hack Chuck Todd says something big is coming from Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel office today. Not tomorrow, not Sunday, not next week – today. Why? Because Todd is still pushing the narrative that Mueller is some sort of stand-up guy who plays by the rules, and the rules dictate that his SC office should avoid influencing the November elections by making any big news between Labor Day and Election Day. Given that today is the last “working” day before Labor Day, Todd figures Mueller’s gonna lower the boom on President Donald Trump.

This is, of course, all a lot of stuff and nonsense, as the great James J. Kilpatrick used to say. Robert Mueller is just another Deep State skunk, and so is Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and there are no “rules” or even the least bit of oversight governing this fake investigation. This is a witch hunt based on a fantasy, explicitly designed to interfere with the ability of a duly-elected President of the United States to conduct the nation’s business.

Far from being silent for the next two months, we can expect Mueller and his gang of Clinton/Obama hacks to pull out all the stops in their efforts to tilt the midterm elections in favor of the Democrats, which was the plan here from the day of Mueller’s appointment by his buddy Rosenstein. Mueller’s office might announce something significant today, or it might not. But the thought that this Special Counsel is observing any of the rules or traditions of the past is hilariously stupid, and not remotely connected to reality.

Jeff Sessions’ job is safe, until it isn’t. – In an interview with Bloomberg yesterday, President Trump said that Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ job is safe until at least Election Day. After that, all bets are off.

“I just would love to have him do a great job,” the president said.

And thus the competing theories about the Trump/Sessions relationship are set up once again. Is Sessions just another Deep State skunk who is too compromised personally to ever make a move to bring all the Obama/Clinton-era bad actors to justice? Or is the public fueding between the President and his Attorney General a Kabuki dance designed to build up public and media sympathy for Sessions before he begins to make his moves in that direction?

Here’s the deal on that: If you don’t see Sessions doing something big during the month of September, if you don’t see him responding in-kind to any big moves made by Mueller, you should expect to see him fired shortly after Election Day.

Speaking of NBC, The Daily Beast published a report on Thursday claiming that NBC’s executives threatened Ronan Farrow if he didn’t stop reporting on serial rapist and big Hollywood muckety-muck Harvey Weinstein. This threat apparently came after Farrow had left the peacock network in protest over NBC’s refusal to run his expose’ of Weinstein which started the whole #MeToo movement.

If you remember, NBC claimed at the time that it felt Farrow’s reporting was “not ready” for publication, but Farrow had no problem convincing The New Yorker to run the story within weeks after leaving NBC a year ago. The Daily Beast report, naturally based largely on anonymous sources (because of course it is), claims that “NBC News general counsel Susan Weiner made a series of phone calls to Farrow, threatening to smear him if he continued to report on Weinstein.” NBC of course denies the report, but NBC reporters and executives have lied so often about so many things in recent years, and the network is itself so deeply involved with trying to cover up its own series of #MeToo-related scandals that no one can really take anything it says at face value anymore.

At the end of the day this is just a pissing contest between two of the worst fake news media outlets in the business, but the most believable aspect of it is the allegation that NBC did everything it could to protect a heinous scumbag like Harvey Weinstein. Because, what else would a network whose biggest fake news personality at the time was Matt Lauer do?

Just another day in fake news media America.

That is all.

According to Rush, Sessions some time ago submitted a letter of resignation. Trump did not take him up on it at the time because he determined it would be bad politically, but he still has the letter in his desk and it can be pulled out and "accepted" at any time the president chooses. So, we will see.

Many years ago I criticized Sessions when I thought he was sleeping the job as the DA in a lynching case. I was one of many who wound up admitting Sessions was doing his job when the lyncher got the death penalty and the KKK was fined to a point where it’s now irrelevant.

I won’t doubt Sessions again.

I agree. WHAT a year it’s been!

First was Bentley, the Deep South Casanova, putting in the Alabama Attorney General, Strange Luther, to replace Sessions, moments AFTER the same AG said there was nothing illegal about the Governor Don Juan flying his cheatin’ Mistress around the state using governments funds.

Yet that same Governor Casanova resigns because of it a day later?

Can anyone not say Quid Pro Quo?

Then, of course, we can’t just let this stand and there’s gotta be an election. So Strange doesn’t win, but we put up the Royal Mouth Moore to challenge him.

I have no qualms about old Roy, he has a big mouth, but it never bothered me. I would be fine with a populist senator, but I think as an Alabamian GOPster I made the mistake to believe old Roy was more popular with the religious class than I thought.

And then the VERY effective smear campaign about Moore on his romances. I don’t believe most of it but there was a pattern. And the Holier-than-thou crowd fell for it, hook, line and sinker. Rather than vote democrat, they stayed home in massive non-droves.

I voted for Moore, but in the late afternoon was only vote # 301 in my 5,000 person town. I was VERY puzzled, because talking to the elderly Bible Society crowd (who does everything before diner at 5:00 PM) that meets every morning at the Mac Donalds for coffee, they said they were gonna still vote for Moore, even if he didn’t do the Christian thing. So where were they? At home. And they stayed home. I could read the writing on the wall. BTW, we vote in a Baptist church, and it’s usually full of the brethren, but they weren’t there December 13th. The smear did it’s job.

So now Alabama (Alabama!) is stuck with a democrat senator who has a Conservative View score card of 7%. Shelby has a 62%. Strange actually had an 82%.

Should we have just let Luther stay, and swallowed the good ole boy back slappin’, or even go back and have Trump NOT pick Jeff Sessions for anything, we’d have been better off.

As of today, Magoo has done more damage to Trump than Robert Mueller has.

How has President Trump actually been damaged? Everything has gone his way, and everything tried against him has boomeranged on his enemies. All war is deception, and appearances do not reflect reality, by design. Who is panicking? Why are they panicking? Enjoy the show...

Mueller has a documented history of dirty prosecutor tricks. It would not be beyond reason to expect him to “win at all costs” by attacking in October.

Sessions should also be part of a follow-up investigation for obstruction charges, in the least!

How has Magoo damaged Trump? If you believe that the Mueller investigation, the one that is damaging (or will damage) countless people who worked on his campaign, is a scam built on a lie, then we have Sessions to thank. Had he any character he would have told DJT that he was going to recuse himself before accepting the AG position. This slap in the face has been a 2-year distraction that has no end in sight. Only the lowest of swamp rats would have done to Trump what Sessions has. As for your childish Q-cult nonsense, “enjoy the show” only a fool is enjoying what our nation is currently going thru. Please grow up and take a look at where we are and where we’re headed. Rat politicians have us on our knees and cultists who look to “droppings” from an anonymous internet personality are not helping one bit.

How are we "on our knees" exactly, and where are we headed? President Trump never had anything to fear from Mueller because there was never anything for Mueller to find. Just today, two more prosecutors resigned from the special counsel, realizing that there's just no "there" there. It has been an elaborate distraction, and its time is approaching its end.

President Trump is emerging as the most investigated president in history. Every possible allegation against him has been thoroughly examined by a talented team of his enemies, to no avail. Every past association, every business transaction, even his own attorney's records have been poured over. Nothing has implicated President Trump in any criminal activity. To the contrary, everything has implicated his enemies. When the tables are turned and the hunters become the hunted, President Trump will have clean hands to carry out justice, and the predictable pleas of "dictatorship" will ring hollow and worthless.

To life-long students of Sun Tzu (Trump is also one), all of this was apparent long before Q emerged in late October, 2017. Feints and ruses have been necessary to defeat an entrenched enemy that didn't even realize it was under attack. Words and theater have camouflaged the actions taken behind the scenes. But underneath all the deception, President Trump's confident calmness stands in contrast to his enemies' terror and panic. They now realize what has been going on, and what is about to happen.

The last two years have been the most stress-free of my life as a political observer. Despite all the real and apparent difficulties thrown against him, EVERYTHING has turned in President Trump's favor. Trump and his inner circle are following a plan that was laid long before his election, and his enemies are being run headlong to their doom.

Time will tell...
