The Trump/Sessions “feud” sounds like an October surprise is coming

I could be wrong about this.

Over the last couple of days, Donald Trump has been very critical of Jeff Sessions.

President Trump criticized Attorney General Jeff Sessions in an interview broadcast early Thursday, saying he “never took control of the Justice Department."

“The Dems are very strong in the Justice Department," Trump said on “Fox & Friends.” "And I put in an attorney general that never took control of the Justice Department, Jeff Sessions. Never took control of the Justice Department.

“It’s sort of an incredible thing,” he added.

“We have this country going so well,” Trump said, adding that “[Secretary of State] Mike Pompeo is doing incredibly, all of my people, they’re doing incredibly.”

Today Sessions pushed back
Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired back against President Donald Trump on Thursday, saying the Justice Department will not be "improperly influenced by political considerations." Earlier, Trump attacked him on television, asking "what kind of a man is this?"

"I took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in, which is why we have had unprecedented success at effectuating the President's agenda," Sessions said in the statement, which was posted on Twitter by Justice Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores.

During an interview that aired hours earlier on "Fox & Friends," Trump said Sessions "never took control of the Justice Department," criticizing the former Alabama senator for recusing himself from the investigation into possible links between Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.

Then Lindsey Graham said he'd support replacing Jeff Sessions:
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Thursday he believes President Trump will name a new attorney general "sooner rather than later" in his first term.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, Graham said Trump is "entitled to an attorney general he has faith in," but said it'd be a "nonstarter" in the Senate for Trump to try to replace Jeff Sessions before the midterms.

"The idea of having a new attorney general in the first term of President Trump's administration, I think is very likely," said Graham.

Trump lashed out at Sessions once again in a "Fox & Friends" exclusive interview, criticizing the former Alabama senator for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, now overseen by his top deputy, Rod Rosenstein.

Also today Sessions met with Trump:
President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions played nice during a meeting Thursday afternoon in the Oval Office, despite fighting publicly just hours earlier about how the former Republican senator has performed at his job atop the Justice Department.

One source described the meeting as a "win" to the Washington Examiner. The meeting, which was about criminal justice reform, stayed on topic, the source said.

The meeting with White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, and White House communications director Mercedes Schlapp was pre-planned, but came hours after Trump told Fox News early Thursday morning that Sessions "never took control of the Justice Department."

It was suggested that Trump might fire Sessions after the mid terms.

Hmm.

Sessions has at least 27 leak investigations ongoing. Thus far (that we know of) they've bagged Reality Winner and James Wolfe. Wolfe is thought to have shared the entire unredacted Carter Page FISA app with NY Times reporter Ali Watkins. You will note that the unredacted version of the FISA app has not been leaked, most likely because it would be the proverbial stake through the heart of the Russian hoax.

Trump just might fire Sessions, which would free him to appoint someone new who would not be recused from the Russian hoax, but pretty much anyone Trump chose would be stonewalled by democrats (and Jeff Flake) for who knows how long.

Thing is, Trump knows everything. He's the President. He can know everything. As I have previously noted, Trump thrives on chaos. He will have people chasing their tails in one direction while he gets other things done. While the left plays checkers, Trump is playing chess.

I think if Trump was really going to fire Sessions, he wouldn't be making a lot of noises about it.No, I suspect something else is afoot. While Sessions has rebuffed calls for another Special Counsel, he has John Huber. And Huber's working with the IG.

Would love to believe all that and if true Sessions deserves his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

But I tend to feel its more likely that Jeffy is just a DS suckup.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired back against President Donald Trump on Thursday, saying the Justice Department will not be "improperly influenced by political considerations."...really, Jeff? - it's reported that Jason Chafez said today on Fox that while he was chair of the House Oversight Committee, his committee twice subpoenaed Brian Pagliano, Hillary Clinton's IT man who reportedly set up and then destroyed her secret server, and Pagliano twice ignored the subpoena and never appeared as required - Chafez said he went to Sessions and pleaded in the name of respect for the law of the land that the DOJ take some action to prosecute Pagliano - Sessions supposedly dismissed the request with a wave of his hand and the comment "he's too close to Hillary" - given your severely impaired IQ, you may not realize it, Jeff, but that's "political considerations" - perhaps the operative word in your statement is "improperly", and maybe you actually consider it proper to ignore the mass corruption of the Clinton cabal to avoid revelations damaging to you or to those who themselves could hurt you if exposed - but in any case you should resign yesterday.....

Very early on, I read that Sessions was having younger people run rings around him and that Rosenstein was actually in charge there.

It looks like Mueller really is.

What’s the legislation that permits Mueller’s existence anyway? What is its budget? Who accounts for it?

Only the insane could believe that as part of the super-secret, Sessions/Trump-Trap, they’d hand the Manhattan DA the keys to books of the Trump foundation. We’re in dangerous territory, folks.

“would not have investigated the Clinton Crime Family”

I go back and forth on my opinions of Sessions ... he can’t be *this* inept, but I have had so many politicians let me down over the years. Overall, it depends on my mood I guess :-).

Two things I try and keep in mind though :

1> If you’re going to go after the Clintons, it has to be an iron clad case with LOTS of verified, TANGIBLE evidence that can be released for public consumption. That would take time to line up all of those ducks. You figure Sessions, if he’s doing something, has been at it for a year and seven months ... that should be right around the time he could make his moves. Most ‘big’ projects I’ve been involved with have 18 month timeframes ... yes, I’m well aware that my experience in determining time is ridiculous, but anything goes when you’re speculating.

2> If *anything* is going to start “happening”, it’ll have to start in early September of this year to impact the midterms. This has to be a story that unfolds so that other players can put their foot in their mouths or, even better, flip on the Clintons. Moreover, Trump NEEDS a strong get out the vote effort ... this would motivate me to walk through a nuclear blast to vote (though I’ll be voting regardless).

So, overall, if nothing happens in September, I’ll probably be in the permanent “trash Sessions” camp ... until then, I’ll simply have to impatiently wait like the rest of us.

He has a Pollyanna-ish attitude that everyone there is basically good and wants to protect the institutions more than clean them out.

If Sessions truly believes this, he is majorly deluded and unfit for the office. There is clearly a huge amount of corruption in virtually every part of government - Obama had 8 years to install a lot of bad people, after all. Regardless, I think it is time for a replacement who can then fire Rosenstein and really get on with draining the Swamp.

Lot of weird things. Noticed Sen. Graham backing Trump and Coulter stating that Sessions is the only one delivering on Trump’s campaign promises. Of course, with her it could be sarcasm.

More likely that Sessions is following a plan invented by Trump to hit a bases-loaded home run right before the election........

I hear similar.

There are a couple dozen people on Twitter better informed and who’ve done outstanding, detailed and thorough research than apparently anyone working with Sessions. It’s one of the many reasons I’m increasingly pessimistic about the future of our country. Watching the research done by unpaid amateurs online uncover the depth of corruption and connect dots all pointing toward a pervasive disrespect for the American citizen is mindboggling.

Remember how all the previous other firings were accomplished - a impeccable, highly reputable official recommends actions based on irrefutable evidence they have studied. The Deep Staters can whine, but can’t refute the findings that President Trump will THEN use to back up any corrective action. VSG!

“Graham backing Trump and Coulter stating that Sessions is the only one delivering on Trump’s campaign promises. Of course, with her it could be sarcasm.”

Coulter has been a Sessions backer all along. She thinks he’s actually doing things about immigration instead of what he’s really doing—hitting with the flat of the sword

Never mind the fact that it will be Sessions that will be responsible for bringing down the Trump administration and ultimately the country.

For sure, Sessions is gone before the elections. Could be sooner, like in a few weeks or less.

Trump has had enough of him, and so have the Trump supporters.
