Is the Press an Enemy of the People?

It was another week of aggression between Trump supporters and the mainstream media. During a Trump rally in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, CNN correspondent Jim Acosta was lambasted with chants of CNN sucks! while covering the event. This prompted Acosta to go on twitter to blame Trump for the increasing hostility toward the media and to exclaim that the press is not the enemy.
Two days after the initial showdown between Acosta and the raucous Trump crowd, Acosta confronted Sarah Huckabee Sanders in a press briefing to ask her if she considered the press an enemy of the people. Sanders refused to say the press wasnt the enemy and, again, Acosta went to Twitter in an outrage.
Scores of people shared in Acostas sentiment that Trump and his supporters demonization of the press was dangerous and undemocratic. But I think those people are forgetting to ask themselves an extremely important question: in what world is CNN a bastion of free and independent journalism?

A whole lot of the press is. And they try to intimidate and shut down anyone who isn’t.

A Press that funnels Presidential Debate questions to one candidate IS an enemy of the people.
It is not a Free Press, it is a Propaganda Press, that well deserves any derision heaped upon it.

Stop calling them “the press”. Start calling them what they actually are: “The media arm of the Democrat Party.”

If the press should not want to be known as the enemy, then it is time and past time they call for a truce with the Trump-Pence Administration.
Freedom of speech is one thing, but that does not translate directly word for word into freedom of the press. Personal opinions are just that, personal opinions. But transferred to the printed page, disguised as a “news story”, the “personal opinion” becomes propaganda, not easily answerable by anyone who lacks the same access to the printed word in a periodical publication.
The Trump-Pence Administration has accomplished many actions that either go unreported, or reported with a definite bias, alluding to sinister purposes, or omission of any number of salient facts that change the whole thrust and consequences of those actions.
“Unfair” does not begin to cover the transgressions of the mainstream media. “Hostile” may be a more accurate assessment of what it is they do.

".....But the other side of the coin is that there is tremendous opportunity for honest, thorough, dependable journalism now."Yes, the mainstream media is at the very least counterproductive and at it's worst an instrument of anti-American propaganda.
But the best part of this sad situation is that a whole lot of good and honest journalists are getting exposure on both radio and the web, so we have a growing wealth of good information available to us.
I stopped watching television for the most part over a decade ago and I would like to believe I am better informed because I have to seek out news instead plopping infront of the boob tube to take in whatever is thrown my way. It's rewarding to make the effort.
So in a perverse sort of way, the likes of Acosta, Cuomo and Wolf Blitzkrieg have helped to make me a better informed citizen. Their poison motivated me to seek out better rather than be the mindless dummy they would prefer.

I don’t know anyone who likes being lied to. Today’s MSM propaganda machine is indicative of what an enemy would do to a foe.

These reporters are yes-men and sock puppets for the real enemies: their editors - owners who tell them what the narrative is.

Excellent Article by Daniel Greenfield.
If an enemy controlled the media, would the news look any different?
July 18, 2018
~snip~
Is the media really the enemy of the American people? Let’s tackle the question objectively.
Enemies hate you and want to destroy you. Do the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, CBS, and the whole alphabet soup of organizations with corporate headquarters in major cities really want to destroy the people who watch their programs, buy their papers and serve them soup after hours?
It seems implausible. But so did the Communists of the Khmer Rouge shooting everyone who wore glasses. Or North Korea’s multi-generational concentration camps, Nazi Germany diverting crucial resources from the war effort to kill Jews, or Venezuela shipping oil to Cuba while its people starve.
Plausibility is a poor measure of what fanatical ideologues might do. Let’s start with what they do, do.
While Jim Acosta was demanding a retraction for being called an “enemy of the people”, the media had thrown every effort into opening the border. The American people are defined by their physical possession of the territory. And that territory and its possession is defined and measured by a border.
You can’t advocate the destruction of the American people and then object to being called their enemy.
Without a border, there is no America and no American people. The territories formerly known as the United States fill up with various peoples who claim the entitlements of citizenship but not its responsibilities, whose identity is not of their current country of residency, but of their country of birth.
You don’t need to be an American to watch CNN, MSNBC or serve soup to one of their reporters. They would rather you weren’t. That’s what replacing Americans with cheap labor and cheap votes is about.
The media’s first allegiance is to the left. Not to America. Its people are not Americans. They’re leftists. The politics of the left are geared at replacing Americans with leftists through a combination of indoctrination, demographic replacement, economic warfare and voter suppression.
Destroying the American people would be an act worthy of an “enemy of the people”.
The media is offended by being referred to as the “enemy of the people”. But does it believe that the American people have the right to exist and maintain their existence? And if so, on what terms?
The media has opposed every war that against Communism or Islamism that the United States has fought. It has sought to undermine our country and our soldiers in these conflicts on various pretexts.
