In this modern day gun world the semi-auto pistols have a huge hold of the market for self-defense guns.
But concealed carry revolvers can still hold their own for personal defense.
Revolvers can be a strong choice for concealed carry, as they're reliable and easy to use. Not everyone is a fan of a small semi-auto for concealed carry.
However, there is a large fan base of shooters that will only look to revolvers for concealed carry.
If youre in this group and interested in carrying a revolver for CCW, read on of the pros and con and see our picks of good quality revolvers for personal defense.
Pros
Feeding and Magazines - You say there is no magazines on a revolver thats right.
Magazines in semi-auto pistols are the main cause of malfunction.
-Feeding works pretty good in semi-auto but when youre plugging in hollow point rounds it does have its issues on magazines.
Revolvers don't have any of these issues.
Lets talk about another feature that doesn't go wrong, is the triggering.
-The execution of it is simply triggering the hammer and cylinder.
Downside
-A revolver holds less rounds than a semi-auto pistol.
Most revolver wheel a 5 round vs a semi-auto holds 6+1 at a minimum.
Hammerless are normally "double-action", there isn't any cocking for a lighter pull.
The following is our pick from the many revolvers to choose from.
Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 38 Crimson Trace
Ruger LCR .22 - yeh a .22
Taurus Judge - I know too much for CCW, made for bear intruders.

Ruger Sp-101 in .327 federal magnum. 6 shots. A powerhouse.
Small, with no hammer to snag, but packs a good punch, especially when carrying the right defensive loads.
Wife prefers S&W .38 +P Air weight...
Ruger LCR in .38+P. I carry that about as often as I carry my Glock 43 in 9mm. I am comfortable and confident with either.
“Ruger Sp-101 in .327 federal magnum. 6 shots. A powerhouse.”
Hard to get the ammo for it, though.
.357 magnum?
The only revolver I rely on for carry is a 44 mag bear gun. I figure there is no reloading in a bear attack.
No 327.
For later.
I never think that way. Been reloading ALL my Ammo since 1982.

Damn, I’m going to have to keep up with things better...
Ruger LCRX...because I don’t want to gift my 1969 pinned and recessed S&W Model 49 to some cop.
My wife packs a Ruger 38 spl stainless Speed Six 2&1/2 barrel. No +P rounds. Its a medium frame which fits her hand nicely. The objective is to put bullets on the target. If thats accomplished then task successfull.e
Bump for later
Ruger Sp-101 in .327 federal magnum.
Mine is chambered in .357 but I carry with .38 Spl. Full power loads turn it into a small flamethrower. Its heavy but the weight helps soak up recoil. I have a pair of Five Star speed loaders for it.
Solid little pistol and itll outlive me for sure.

How in the world is the Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special revolver NOT on this list?
JMO, but author needs his carburetor adjusted.
If your wife has to defend herself a 38 round center mass will put the bad guy down.
The favorite of Son Of Sam. But a solid revolver
This is my exact carry. My only problem? Is beautiful. I can’t stop looking at it or holding it.
