The name “Melania” came in just behind “Ensley,” “Oaklynn,” “Dream,” and “Oaklyn” in rising popularity for 2017, according to the U.S. Social Security Administration. The name Melania flew 720 spots up the chart from 2016 to 2017.

The Trumps are extraordinary people called to service in an extraordinary time.

Ping to First Lady Melania's List.

Maybe this will mean my phone will stop auto-correcting her name to "Melanie".

I’d be curious where Donald fits in today, versus 2-3 years ago?

Or Barron?

Wouldn’t the left have fits?

Imagine if Kanye had a surge amongst blacks this next year.

The Anti-Hillary effect. Remember how she single-handedly drove down the popularity of that name?

Yes, Hillary ruined that name for decades to come.

Melania is a lovely name and not punitive to a child like saddling them with the currently faddish freak show names.

“Not so different from Medieval times are we?”

Well, except then it would have been people naming their daughters after St. Melania.

I just meant the generality of naming your children after the King/Queen or Head of the House of whomever.

Sometimes parents just ask for their kids to get their a$$#$ kicked.

There are certain names that kids just seem to grow into (most of the time)
Name a girl Heather or Brook(e) and chances are she'll be pretty and popular.

Certain other names like ...
Leave you with perpetual spinsters

“Ensley,” “Oaklynn,” “Dream,” and “Oaklyn”

Note the fun-with-statistics in this article: what's being compared is not the per-item use of the names but the rate of increase. From one "Oaklyn" or "Oaklynn" (poor kid) per year to a few dozen is a substantial rate of increase, even thought there still are, fortunately, very few in gross terms.

Not that Melania isn't a perfectly nice name, except when too many other people have it.

Oaklyn...yeah, I would really love a name that sounds like Ebonics for “Oakland”.

What are they having? Children or trees?

Good Lord, some day these kids are going to be adults. Give them names they can live with as adults.
