As President Trump pushes forward with his promised U.S.-Mexico border wall, companies competing for the chance to work on the multi-billion-dollar project are facing mounting boycotts from local Democratic lawmakers moving to blacklist the border builders.
Coordinated efforts have been launched in California, Arizona, Illinois, New York and Rhode Island that would prohibit cities and towns from doing any official business with the companies as part of a larger resistance strategy to delay construction of the controversial wall.
Most recently, Berkeleys City Council in California approved an ordinance that would ban it from contracting with companies involved in the construction.
The proposal, drafted by Mayor Jesse Arreguin and Councilmembers Ben Bartless, Sophie Hahn and Cheryl Davila, argues that the wall would harm Californias prosperity.

There’s pissy and then there’s leftist loon pissy. These leftists are really something; something like a 2 year old in an adult body having a baby tantrum kinda something.
Oh; and did I mention they are really pissy?
It would be a terrible thing if the Chi-Coms were to nuke our ten bluest urban areas.
How many of those cities have credit above “junk” status?
Yeah, if you just consider them to be malicious and malevolent children it all fits together.
I really wish they would start production on this wall.
Now.
If you can't refrain from telling our members what they can or can't say in a thread then you should neither post a comment nor post a thread. No thin skinned losers allowed.
Just avoid my posts in the future and save yourself aggravation.
Simple.
The Wall will provide lots of work for them. Maybe just relocate out of California to AZ, TX, etc.
How, if cities and towns from all sorts of states are prohibited from doing any official business with the companies?
Wonder if this falls under federal ‘interstate commerce’ where states would be prohibited from this sort of thing? Not the overreach interstate commerce happening for centuries, but the kind intended in the constitution. I have no idea, so convoluted, but just throwing that out there...
I think the sample walls were going to be put through the paces before any final decisions.
Patience Grasshopper.
Isn't that illegal?
I smell RICO baby!
The Federal government should declare any company that does business in any of these states to be ineligible for any Federal contracts for a specified number of years.
Basically, simply modify the Federal contracting process so that any company doing business in these states is treated no differently than a company that does business with enemy nations.
Put a siege on these cities and and see how long they can last.
Democrats, the party of hate.
This has to be unconstitutional.
This is supposed to be a public forum discussion/debate website. The posting-pests are trying to turn it into Facebook/twitter. Is that what you really want to happen ?
Besides, no one is overriding anyone’s free speech. Anyone can speak their mind, but there is a way to do it properly, and there is a way to be a big pest to everyone else while doing so.
If you start a thread of your own, you are free to post your own ‘preferences’ for the thread.
The RELIGION threads do it all the time.
