This is supposed to be a public forum discussion/debate website. The posting-pests are trying to turn it into Facebook/twitter. Is that what you really want to happen ?
Besides, no one is overriding anyone’s free speech. Anyone can speak their mind, but there is a way to do it properly, and there is a way to be a big pest to everyone else while doing so.
If you start a thread of your own, you are free to post your own ‘preferences’ for the thread.
The RELIGION threads do it all the time.
The religion forum is different. It has different categories such as devotional or denominational caucus threads to allow for a church-like setting.
