We are undergoing an explosion of scandals involving sexual harassment. The vast majority of those being exposed are leftist powerhouses. The reason seems clear to me. Those are the people the establishment media were willing to spike stories to protect.
I call this the sexual harassment class of scandals. The establishment media no longer has the credibility, reach, or power to spike these stories. The stories are about behavior the media claim to abhor, so they must be covered, once they escape into the general notice of the public.
I predict it will not stop with sexual harassment. There are several other classes of scandal that are waiting in the wings for exposure. I will name a few, but please add your own.
1 - Misappropriating government funds/ stealing from the public trough. There could be an overlap from the John Conyers story.
2 - Bribery - Paying off people to give false witness or accepting money for illegal actions, paying a third party to run as a spoiler or similar actions.
3 - Stacking the Deck - Using the power of the government to go after your political enemy and to reward your political friends outside of due process. The entire non-pursuit of Hillary's crimes fit, as well as the current Muller investigation, and the CFPB, and much of the activity at the EPA. Weinstein's prosecutions at Enron fit here as well. The IRS abuse fits as well.
4 - Conspiring with foreign governments against the United States. Uranium one, Bill Clinton's China money and Guidance technology secrets, Obama's cooperation with the Muslim Brotherhood, Saudi Arabian money in American politics.
There are whole classes of scandals that have been spiked for decades. Let them all come out.
If any corruption is exposed it will be just enough to make it look like there isn’t much to see here.
Move along.
Years and years of crap will be exposed ...
imo
Somewhere Hillary is going; “SEE? If I was president, none of these scandals would be happening.”
And she would be right. The Clintons - like Obama - knew how to deflect a good scandal by creating a new scandal even more outrageous than the old one. They were the masters at manufacturing a crises.
I agree with your four points, but believe the next sexual harassment class will be university professors. A liberal swamp preying on coeds.
Everyone on PBS and NPR and the NY-Slimes are accused of sexual harassment.
Years and years of crap will be exposed ...
imo
Yes, but what will be the next big scandal class aside from sexual harassment?
One by one the elite institutions are crashing down.
This is a fine time to be alive.
Pedophilia will be next.
Followed by illegal drug use in congress and the senate.
I believe the next group ripe for victimization exploitation will be people with foreign heritage either illegals (dreamers) or first generation anchor babies.
>Pedophilia will be next.
Wouldn’t bet on it. The left’s pro-Pedophilia.
It will be whatever they think they can use as a pretext to Trump up impeachment charges.
5 - Political murders
6 - Pedophilia
7 - Human trafficking
I don’t know if it is next, but I am sure Educational institutions have many major corruption and sexual harrasment issues that will be revealed.
Pedophiles in high places. When the wall finally crumbles on that one, this one will look like a walk in the park.
Followed by illegal drug use in congress and the senate.
That seems a likely one.
What I noticed during the Clinton/Lewinsky/Impeachment debacle was how the media uses it as a distraction.
There were important things happening that were ignored or barely mentioned while the media focused on Clinton’s so called “approval” ratings, and discussions that his affair wasn’t an impeachable offense-deliberate misleading obsfucation.
Meanwhile all manner of things betraying our country were happening that helped the Chinese for example. Same today, sex scandals are being used as a distraction from the real important news. JMHO.
I doubt it with regards to Lauer. Honestly when I heard the news my first thought was "Well that's what you get for going off script when questioning Hillary Clinton on live television". That was a first, gut reaction because she was livid that he dared ask her about Benghazi. Later I set the conspiracy thoughts aside and figure he went too far and too many people started talking in the current climate and he had to go to save the network. But there's no way Hillary is doing anything but cackling with glee at his predicament.
I think the idea that the media uses “distractions” is an unrealistic way of looking at what we see, or perhaps, I am simply misinterpreting what you are saying.
When the media do not want the people to see something, they simply ignore it. When they do that, everything else they bring up can be classified as a “distraction” but it really isn’t.
The establishment media do not need a specific distraction, because they do not have any reason to expose anything that detracts from their agenda.
It used to be that ignoring a subject kept it out of the public mind. That is not working so well any more.
