There are times I would like to make the effort of throwing dinner for friends or family and cook everything from scratch. But the labor of love just takes so long. In spite of all the inspiration from Rachael Ray, the 30-minute meal is actually more myth than fact.
Thawing your food alone may take almost an hour. Then theres the diligence of slow cooking the meat to your desired tenderness. Not to mention the many times you will have to change pots and pans, as the vegetables, which cook faster, have to be cooked much later than the meatyou cant just dump it all in together. And then theres the extra challenge of creating a signature dessert.
Wouldnt it be incredible if you could just dump all your ingredients in an oven and when you open the oven, everythings ready to eat? Then even the busiest of executives would have time to create and appreciate gourmet meals when they get home.....

Yeah, right.
This sounds like those miracle inventions that, on closer reading, turn out to be graduate design thesis projects that are never even prototyped.
So, you input specifics, but how do you direct the magically calibrated energy to the specific place in the single pan?
Believe it when I can walk into the appliance store and see it demonstrated.

So how do you get the cooked cod out of the ice block when its done and who wants to eat ice cold cod? Crazy if you ask me.

I swear I’m the LAST US Citizen to take Home-Ec.
I learned so much in that class. I talk about it all the time. People think what I do with running my company, cleaning my house, cooking and caring for a 3 year old is impossible.
I learned it in middle school for god’s sake.
In home ec in 7th grade the first thing we made was butterscotch pudding w/ toffee bits sprinkled on top. I thought I had died & gone to heaven!
The next week we made Waldorf salad. Gag!
